To think this edition of the Kings could even come close to the record of that fine Oilers team is a troubling statement.

No bjugstad? He's exactly what gillis is looking for. Big 6'5 smart two way center with skill.

The ideal Florida trade would be

To van Bjugstad, Versteeg and the 23rd pick

To Florida Luongo, Raymond and Sauve

- Boinker

He'll be on the list. He's not signed so I missed him

Bjugstad centered Jensen in the WJC, have chemistry and could fill out a all Danish line with Hansen.

Sounds good to me.

I think Lack has to play so many games or becomes a RFA?
- VANTEL

Lack is already an RFA. If he signs a 1 year deal and plays less than 20 games in the NHL in 2012/13, he becomes a UFA.

Pretty sure Gillis will try to get him to sign a 2 year deal.

Laleggia is sick. He played BCHL in Penticton where I'm from. It'd be nice to have a hometown player on the big club.

I love the troll blogs, at least it gives us something to talk about... especially when there's pretty much nothing going on.

I may be old school, but I like the rink the way it is. They've stopped calling penalties plain and simple! I think the NHL is trying to purposely slow the game down to reduce the number of concussions.
- LeftCoaster

I don't want them to slow the game down! I'd rather watch rugby than slowed-down, gutless trap hockey.
Oh, how I wish we'd go to the European size rinks. Imagine being able to watch the most skilled scorers dictate the pace of a game rather than the most skilled grinders! Don't get me wrong, I like Craig McTavish... but I tuned in to watch Wayne Gretzky. Maybe some people will say this makes me less of a hockey fan somehow...
Regardless, I like big, smashy, smart, safe(ish) hits, and with the gigantic monsters we have today, there will still be players smart and skilled enough to lay big hits on the open ice, and they'll be doing so at higher speed. Don't worry... we'll still see the stretcher!
The last advantage (though some will see it as a disadvantage) will be making an NHL career attainable for people who aren't both great hockey players and ridiculously large. Any fans of Doug Gilmour here? 5"10, 175. Very likely that in the next 20 years the NHL will reach the point where you'd literally have to be the second coming of Gretzky to even get in the League at that size, and you'd probably have a career cut short due to injury.
