Why rush ? A better deal may come along. - VANTEL
Because it's a conversation. How long does that take to plan. In saying that, they might have already had THAT talk so need to re-visit it until concrete offers come past Gillis' desk I guess. |

Yeah Schenn + 2nd or Gardiner + a 3rd would be reasonable I think.... Good 3rd pairing guys. - I-own_da-Northwest
Exactly, not to mention they are all relatively young, meaning they could only move up the D ladder. Personaly I think Schenn has a hell of a lot more in the tank then he previously demonstrated. He's 23, big body and lays out a massive number of hits all season long. Was he not drafted fifth overall as well? |

Agreed all around. That said, with the talk of Florida now the frontrunners, I like their assets better if we can get to them. - AlexF
Just curious—where did you read they are the front-runners? I read the TSN article with Mckenzie, Lebrun, and Dreger that said they'll be very interested, but I don't remember reading they were the frontrunners. Did I just miss it?
That said, there are pieces from Fla that I would prefer over what TO has. Don't think they'd give up Huberdeau, Gudbranson (unless he wants out, as I know they had difficulty signing him), or Kulikov, but, as somebody already said, Bjugstad or Howden would be nice. |

Absolutly, we also have a great history as trading partners to boot.
Ballard not so much, mind you I think that's more our fault... |

Yes he was as someone said before Florida would be a good partner too if we could wrastle Johny H or kulikov out of there...I could see Jose 3-or-more coming back too so that schnieds would only have to play 50-65ish this year. |

I honestly hope he's wrong about TO....they have absolutely nothing I would want... - I-own_da-Northwest
I'm more intrigued about this Florida rumour, I love what Tallon has done there and they have a ton of solid assets that the Canucks would be interested in. Tallon might want to do the same with Markstrom as the Canucks have with Schneider and so trading Luongo might make sense. We'd probably have to take a big contract back that Florida would want to get rid of(Upshall, Jovo) plus another young player/pick.

My bad, scrolling back I think I jumped on a comment someone made. Should have called Florida the new comers to the Luongo sweepstakes. |

I'd agree that we've been great trading partners going back years. That doesn't mean we've won them all, but more so that we've been actively talking and discussing level-headed deals. If we fleeced those guys every time I doubt we'd still be close trading partners. |

Yeah, somebody else mentioned them as the front-runners, as well.
Seems weird. Maybe they're planning on unloading Theodore or Markstrom. |

Markstrom is only 22, I could see him doing exactly what Schneider is doing behind Lu. Back up for say three year then take over. |

Gudbranson is franchise, no way he goes anywhere since Tallon made a serious effort to improve the team. And upshall is a Richard or cancer so he's a player I really don't see fitting in here. |

IMO:
Gudbranson, Kulikov, Huberdeau, Howden (I'd add Bjugstad) - top shelf trades
Theodore - 1 more year at 1.5M, perfect back up for Scheider
Versteeg - decent return, likely need more coming back
Upshall - no thanks
Macfarland, Bradley, Petrovic - don't know them

Petrovic is a gamer I like him... Bradley would be a good character guy and I know McFarland was highly-touted prospect but I haven't heard a damn thing bout him since he was drafted. |

Markstrom is their future in net, so any deal with Lu going to FLO would have to mean Theodore coming back. I'd be fine with that as he only has 1 more year at 1.5M - time to assess Schneider's starter role and 1 more year for Lack in Chicago.
My only guess is that, based on what they're seeing, they don't feel Theodore is a bona-fide #1 and Markstrom is not yet ready. Also worth noting is how well Lu has mentored Schneider. |

Howden - Robak - Petrovic - Bjustad are all good young prospects I'd lovd to have in our system. |

Haven't watched a game since early in the 2nd round. Tried to watch one in the 3rd round (NYR-NJ) and after 2 scoreless periods and no action I stopped watching entirely. It's been strangely liberating. |

I'm starting to like Lu more. It's a side of him he never shows to the media, although his poetry reading a few years back was pretty funny. |

I just wanted to get one last game in, hopefully LA can pull it off tonight and end this terrible playoff season |
