I hope he goes to Florida, he put up with a lot of sh!t here from the fans and media. Florida will be better next year with him and Huberdeau in their line up.
- LeftCoaster

I'd hope Gillis can pry Huberdeau out of Florida but I highly highly doubt it. The guy will be a monster in this league. Choice #2 is Gudbranson, but he's their future top pairing so again, doubtful. Choice #3 Howden (LW). Choice #4 Bjugstad (C). Apart from all these guys, I might take Bergenheim, but not much else.

It can be tedious at times. People generally tweet way too much. Just because I'm following you, doesn't mean I want to hear your every random thought. When they keep it to breaking news and interesting stuff, that's where the value lies.

Choice number 4!

Stick him with Hansen and Jensen and I believe we would have the first ever all Danish line in the league. I could see them being very effective together.

Fleishman? Gillis was trying to get him last year.Is he healthy now?

Heard today that the leafs are prepared to deal one of Schenn/Gardiner/Franson because they feel they only have room for two..... Maybe SamJam is right

Yes, he had a decent year as well (27g, 61 points). And for $4.5M for 3 more years is a decent contract to pick up. He's a left winger, so can slot into the 2nd line. That said, with Kesler I'm not sure how effective he'd be. Stephen Weiss is a playmaker.

Makes sense as he could also be considered the salary dump along with a prospect.
Health wise I'm not to sure, poor guys got the worst luck in the league, didn't he just get over some sort of serious virus?

Assuming that's true, my money would be on Franson as the odd man out. Gardiner had a promising year, Schenn is a Burke favorite (took him to Iraq), Franson was a healthy scratch for a portion of the season.

Blood clot issue. Apparently the initial meds he was given screwed him up worse. He's on the right meds now and had a good season to boot. Again, I think he needs a playmaker and, as a LW, can't skate on the Sedin line.

Franson is a solid 3rd pairing guy but I think they'd have to package the 5th with him to make it worth it.

I'm down.

Any of the three would be a massive upgrade over Rome or AHLberts...

One thing I don't get about the Luongo situation - wtf is taking him and Gillis so long to meet and discuss the future? It was meant to happen last week, now it's this week. When you're talking about the future of your career and possibly the biggest move Gillis would be making to date, what could possibly be the hold-up? And please don't give me the SC bs...

You wouldn't want Gardiner or the 5th overall? Seriously?

I'd take either of those, or Franson, or Colborne, as well, but more would have to be added.

Not saying there aren't other players or packages I wouldn't prefer, but TO has a few assets that could help. Just put the TO hate aside.

BB won't give that one up. They'll get a C for that pick and TO has needed one for years. They sure as hell won't get a top pairing center in the trade market.

Yeah Schenn + 2nd or Gardiner + a 3rd would be reasonable I think.... Good 3rd pairing guys.

Agreed all around. That said, with the talk of Florida now the frontrunners, I like their assets better if we can get to them.
