hey, if Edmonton wants Del Zotto as part of a larger package for the first overall pick, we can talk there too
- jimbro83

Non-starter imo. What Edmonton would ask, NY won't give.

Who would you guys give up for Weber? Hes a RFA so you have to trade for him or give him an offer sheet. I think if you give him an offer sheet the Preds will match it, so your gonna have to go the trade route

"While the New York Rangers were in the middle of their grueling playoff run, shot-blocking their way to wins, one former player observed the method of winning and suggested this had to be New York's year. If they didn't win it all now, he suggested, it would be a nearly impossible effort to duplicate next season."

Did a former Ranger say this? or a former NHL player in general?

Never going to happen. The Preds will demand Krieder, Hagelin, MDZ, Staal, or McD if they go the trade route, the offer sheet route will cost way too much. I'd love to see the Rangers do it, but it would be idiotic to do it.

IMO in any trade made D wise erixon goes before del zotto.
- TheRussian

Disagree to a point. MDZ gets more expensive and may need to be sacrificed in order to creat enough space to add scoring help. I like MDZ and think he is going to be very good but I could see the Rangers choosing the cheaper option in this case to add offense elsewhere.

at least they talk hockey though.

Boomer is a monster MONSTER Rangers fan, he's like one of us.

Brian said on the last thread Carton is better than Barry but that doesn't say much.

Carton sucks when talking about hockey but he'll be the first to admit he likes Hockey less than Baseball, Basketball, and Football and doesn't consider himself a huge fan.

I've definitely grown to like that jabroni Carton more and more. That being said I want to call every morning and just rip on the guy because it sounds fun!

I rarely say never but I agree. Weber is a legit top-three D-man in this league and will be worth a ton in a trade. If they'd take Staal/MDZ, Dubinsky and some combination of picks/prospects (not named Kreider) then I am in but have to think they will want McD and/or Kreider in any package.

I could respond with a picture to this, but I'd digress. I honestly don't find it very funny because most of them are from NY, and all of them now have poopty spin off shows that nobody gives two poops about.

Exactly, MDZ+Dubinsky could get it done and won't leave Rangers fans upset, but why wouldn't they ask for Krieder or McD, they'd be stupid not too try to push it. Weber is Weber, he's a great player, and they'd try to get the most out of him. Dubinsky and MDZ are both shaky and you don't know which player you will get from them, the shaky MDZ that we saw in round three, or the guy that played very well during the season, and same goes for Dubinsky from this year to last.

Glen, I hope you are right and believe you are, but it should have been expressed that way. Plus, if someone taking pain shots from trainer, you would think Torts etc should know.
- airjan23

Don't be so sure. I posted the Times article about Boogaard in the last thread & how he had hundreds of prescriptions from team doctors & personnal docs in the yr before he overdosed & died.

Some of them, not most, and they represent the jersey trash aspect very well. After living in jerzee for the past 9 years I can tell most of the stereotypes are very true.

I'm not a base a ball fan but I was watching from the 6th inning on in the Santana no no, that was exciting & was rooting for the Mets big time. My brother is a die hard fan , so I was pumped for him.

It is stupid that the whole state of NJ is tied to those air heads, especially when Sammi I think is the only one who was born & still lives in Joysey.

I think Torts means he didn't know the extent of the damage to Gaborik's shoulder though he must have known Gabby was taking pain killers. Pain tolerance is an individual matter so Torts didn't necessarily think it was that bad just because he was taking pain pills and/or injections. Once the extent of the damage was known it's clear Gabby must have been dealing with a lot of pain.

And restricted range of motion/strength, which maybe wasn't understood, either.
