Probably not in the same fashion as Huddle has been screaming "Faksa!" though...
- Lohaus

True, but I have had a man crush on Vasilevski since the WJC. I don't think Yzerman wants to deal with a head-case family like the Subbans.

Yeah, it really depends what kind of trades they get involved in.
- Oglethorpe

I'm just glad the Wild got away from their old style of drafting. Gillies and Sheppard...Pouliot. Grinders in the top-15 wtf?

Faksa shouldn't be in the top-5 he doesn't have the talent. As I mentioned in the last one, if the mock went down that way I see Burke trading down.

As far as that, Huddle is certainly larger than me. So I can confirm this.

Really like Trouba. Think he could be the best defender in this draft class once things pan out.

Size, speed, meanstreak and some skill, a potent combo. Just hope he doesn't get pacified in the NCAA like some guys do. I don't like how they try to turn the game into a rec league sport.

No Sh!t, you're telling ME! I've been a Wild season ticket holder since day 1. It's been pretty painful since the run in 2003.

Lots of reasons for optimism in the years ahead finally! I really like the job Fletcher and his team have done so far restocking the cupboard.

Faksa seems like a fairly good choice for the Leafs, if they really don't want Grigo.

Side note: mynhldraft.com seems to think Rielly and Galchenyuk are the same people

I actually liked the Sheppard pick at the time. He looked pretty good in junior. Looking at th elist, I see Bernier was taken after him but I'm not a fan of pickign goalies that high. Bryan Little, i saw carted off the ice after getting demolished by Lukas Kaspar that year and with his size as an issue and the injury, I thought Sheppard offered a safer package. I never had use for Tlusty, despite being a Greyhound. He did nothing for me as a player, huddle might have liked his off the ice exploits though...
I saw a lot of Pouliot that year, and I had a friend of mine who worked with them at the time and knowing what I knew about Benoit and his work ethic, or lack thereof, no way I took him that high. Colton Gillies I think could have been a good pick, but the team should take responsibility for bingin him up to not play, not allowing him to go to the WJC and not allowing him to develop. They failed him as much as he failed them in my opinion.

True enough, Sheppard was always a little too soft.

As far as Gillies, guy shouldn't have gone that high he just lacked the skill. I still find it funny when Button said as an NHL comparable for Zemgus Girgensons is Colton Gillies, almost puked. Rank: 12th overall NHL Comparable: 4th line plug What was he drinking?

I've got to disagree with the Wild taking Grigorenko at #7.

They have a ton of high end forward prospects in the system with many expected to crack the team this year. They will likely take a defenseman considering the great options available where they pick.

I'm guessing they take either Trouba or Reinhart. Assuming Trouba is gone by the time the Wild pick, they would have a hard time passing on a defenseman with Reinhart's size and reach.

- Oglethorpe

Personally I think a move will be made and the Wild will either move downor move up, I dont see them drafting 7th.

They are not in Position to draft on needs, all are foward prospects are great but Grigs has that superstar potential. Would be foolish to pass on him IMO. Its unlikely all our prospects will even pan out and if they do, we can deal from strength. If he is there at 7, take him and move up in the late 1st and grab a dman.

As much as the depth of the prospects in Minnesota tell you they'd likely want the D and avoid the forwards, I think they're in a position right now that requires them to take the best player available. If Grigorenko is there at 7, something odd occurred and like Philly last year or Anaheim and Phoenix the year before, you simply just capitalize on it, pick the player and leave it as that, espeically in early parts of round 1 where the talent is surely there. Having quality depth is never an issue. You can move quality assets from a strength to fill in voids later.

It would only be ban worthy if he left out "sometimes". In that case, it'd just be offensive to you, absolutely. We're all idiots.... "sometimes".

I've heard people mention Faska going #5 to Leafs. What made you put Dumba there rather than him? Nationality? or is Dumba > Faska? potentially atleast.

I've also heard people mention that Brian Huddle > You. Can you Confirm or Deny this rumour?

- wolfos412

Other than said Huddle I haven't seen anyone put Faksa close to 5. May go top 10, but much closer to 10 than 5. Faksa just isn't top 5 in skill, more like a second line center. Not sure I want the Leafs to try and draft a second line center with 5th overall.

Of course not that I think Dumba was a great choice either. Leafs already have Phaneuf no need for another. If the Leafs are going to ignore BPA (Grigorenko) then might as well take Rielly. Rather go for as much offensive skill as possible if having to pick d instead.

Totally true. They will take the best player available, and have already publicly said so.
