No One would have beat the kings this year, so coming here and trolling the devils fans is foolish.

I think it's pretty fair to say the rangers series took a lot more out of the devils then they may want to let on, but these things happen.

Good luck in game four, maybe you'll shock the world.

I haven't liked a player as much as Parise since Neidermayer. I really hope he stays. Will be devastating if he doesn't.... as an outsider, what do you think he'll do?
- Jeffrey7146

i cant see parise going, we have gotten this far and he is the leader of the team, yes we are down 3-0 but the first 2 games really could have gone either way, its not like we are being blown out, so i believe he will come back

hopefully we can add some some grit rather then soft players like poni (started strong but tailed off) and some punch on the blue line, or go for wideman to help move the puck.....if we can do that we will be helping out the team for next year

maybe we can steal stoll away

You didn't ask me, but I hope for the sake of you guys he stays. If you guys hadn't done poop in the playoffs, id say there's a 50-50 chance he leaves. But getting to the SCF, hopefully it leans him closer to staying. Who knows though, maybe he feels that was his best chance and leaves. Hope not.

Do you guys have the cap to sign him and get extra help?

I think he stays, he seems to really love playing for the devils, and in a world ruled by money, thats not very common. Good for him, and good for hockey.

I agree, I'm finding it hard to really hate any Devils... They seem like a good group of guys. Even down 4-0 in the last few minutes tonight they were all still skating hard.

You have to respect that.

devils fans have nothing to be ashamed of, and while I could see how they would be upset, they have so much to look forward too.

I'm not sure we need to do much on defense. Fayne and Larsson will only get better, Urbom is almost ready. Tallinder will be back. I do however only want to keep either Volchenkov or Salvador. Not both. Most likely it will be....

Greene - Fayne
Larsson - Tallinder
Volchenkov - Harrold/Urbom

4 of our 6 dmen are all young, and will only improve. Future is bright.

I took a look at all the numbers earlier in the season and we look to be in good shape. Give me a few minutes to do some math and i'll answer your question for sure though. Not like i'm going to sleep anytime soon anyway

yes we have the room, even if he makes 7mill

rumors have it that the cap will go upto 70.3mill (cap floor will be ~50mill and that means there will be MAJOR overpayment by numerous teams in the offseason or big cap players on the move)

id like to get someone who could move the puck and set up plays from the blue line like zidlicky (aka wideman) or a dman that is strong and hard to push off the puck and makes smart decisions

the kings forwards are showing that our dmen are being pushed off too easily due to their size and strength

im not saying go after suter because that isnt realistic, but i do hope we can upgrade the D somehow while bringing in our d prospects

I'm overpaying players slighty in order to put together a worst-case scenario cap hit before signing Parise so keep that in mind:
43.121 current cap hit going into 12/13 season.
+1.5 mil to Carter
+1.5 mil to Bernier
+1.5 mil to Gionta
+4.5 mil to Brodeur
+1.5 mil to Hedberg
+1.5 mil to Harrold
+2.5 mil to Fayne
Salvador, Sykora, Ponikarovsky, and Janssen are gone.
------------------
57.621 mil cap hit
Salvador, Sykora, Ponikarovsky, and Janssen are gone.
------------------
Resign Parise 5 years, 7 million
------------------
64.621 mil cap hit

I'd love to see Lou go after Radulov and let him play on the top line. Give him 3.75 mil.
------------------
68.371 cap hit

Lines:
Kovy - Henrique - Radulov
Parise - Zajac - Zubrus
Gionta - Josefson - Elias
Tedenby- Carter - Bernier

Greene - Fayne
Larsson - Tallinder
Volchenkov - Zidlicky/Harrold/Urbom

Brodeur
Hedberg

After next season, Brodeur and Hedbergs contracts come off the books, as does Zidlicky, Zubrus, and Elias, who I believe will all be gone. That money can be used to help re-sign/re-structure Henrique, Zajac, Clarkson, Josefson, Urbom, and Larsson. Those 6 are definitely part of the Devils future.

I got carried away. Oh well

Two years in a row where the physically stronger team won. I believe I'm beginning to see a pattern.... Bad news is it will drive the price up even higher for gritty strong players which is exactly what my team needs. Thanks a lot kings

because well they went to the same journalism school that ek went to, they ask questions that your like ummmmm ok you dont need a degree for that, is there really a point to that question, pretty much you know the answer before they ask the question

do you think you played well? ummmmmm no
do you think you will win? sure why not

the questions they ask are just plain stupid

you're also nuts to put Elias on the RW and to think that RADULOOOV of all players is the answer. Gionta isn't a 3rd line player. Keep the 4th line as is.. Carter-Gionta-Bernier..

I'd keep the lines the same, maybe.. and just put Tedenby on the 3rd line LW.

Parise-Zajac-Kovalchuk
Elias-Henrique-Zubrus
Tedenby-Josefson-Clarkson
Carter-Gionta-Bernier

we'd be nuts not to bring back that 4th line. all are fully capable of subbing in on the 3rd line.. Bernier has potential to play anywhere if he has to. This was a great 4th line... and we only really saw them together during the postseason.

good to see a rangers fan actually telling it like it is...to be honest i can't hate the rangers/rangers fans like i could in the late 90's-early 00's, and i cant be mad at the kings and their fans either...they were just a better team and we ran out of gas...playing 2 emotional series' back to back will do that...not to mention fighting the 2 best goalies in the world back to back...brodeur might be the best to ever play the position but lundqvist and quick are the future...get ready for greatness cause theres no better feeling as a fan to see your team hoist the cup

Well let me be the first to congratulate the Kings because there is no way in hell the Devils are coming back to win this series. Like someone else said no one was beating that team this year.

Expect the worst hope for the best, Go Devils!

Parise isn't worth $7 million. He is hard working but that doesn't mean he should get that kind of money. It would be tough to let him walk but there is no way I'd give him more than $6.5 million at the tops.

We need to get a good RW to play with Parise and Zajac. Not sure if Zubrus is the answer anymore and Kovalchuk, I hope, isn't. We need to let Poni go, he has been garbage in these playoffs and is soft. I just get the feeling Elias won't be as good as he was in this regular season. Maybe a 60-65 point season. On D, I'd like to see Tallinder paired with Larsson. I'd want Salvador back but his age is a concern. Maybe give a shot at Urbom instead of Bryce. If we could trade Volchenkov, I would not mind that at all. Doubt that happens. Don't think Harrold will be back even though he has been good. Fayne is a good defensive defenseman and I'd bring him back to play with Greene on the 2nd pair. Zidlicky will be here, not sure who he plays with.

Frustrating...I didn't want to be thinking about the offseason and next season yet.

I agree with the Poni assessment, he's a good player, I like him, but he's replacable. We need to keep Gionta, Carter, and Bernier. Throw them each 1.5-1 million and have them play the third/fourth line role. For me, I'd love to see these forwards next year on the big squad:

LW: Parise, Elias, Tedenby, Carter
C: Zajac, Henrique, Josefson, Gionta
RW: Kovalchuk, Zubrus, Clarkson, Bernier

I like that line-up. As for defense, I think it's time to give Urbom, Taormina, and maybe as a longshot Gelinas, their chance, but Tallinder is blocking the way.

Greene-Fayne
Volchenkov-Larsson
Tallinder-Zidlicky
Taormina/Harrold/Urbom

Choose between Taormina or Harrold and they will be our reliable 7th defensemen. This teams future is bright if we manage to retain that fourth line.

http://capgeek.com/cap-ca...ulator/roster.php?id=5122

EDIT: Why does capgeek have the cap at 70.3 million, is that the official rise or projected?
