Remember early on in the Rangers series when we just couldn't get anything clean past Hank, and it seemed like we were DOOMED? And once we did we gained a ton of confidence and it changed the series? That can happen tonight in this series. We score first, and it will be like a monkey off our back and will carry us to victory. I have faith! GET THAT 1-0 LEAD! - Jeffrey7146
The difference is we were 1-1 at that point. Right now, we are 0-2. You can live with a 1-2 deficit, but a 0-3 deficit is a whole 'nother beast to mess around with. If we can't score off the forecheck or beat their guys clean, we're not going to score unless it's deflections, tips, or rebounds. Kings do a great job with their backcheckers and often times outnumber our attack, which requires one player finding a way to beat at least two guys. |

my goodness our power play sucks - shvingter88
We had chances, I don't know what more you could ask for. The Zid penalty was more unluckiness, and you can't fault him for taking that penalty at that time. At the same time, we almost scored a couple times on the 5-on-3, we looked good on the 5-on-4 too. You're not going to score every opportunity, we just need to keep up the forecheck, which is hard to do for 60 minutes or even 60+ minutes, and whether their storm that they will come out with after gaining all this momentum. |

In my opinion, we just need to start doing what other teams have done to Marty and start tossing pucks to the front of the net, when we have guys there. I don't care how they go in. Look at Callahan's goal in game five last series as a prime example, just get guys to the front and throw them from weird angles. They are not letting our forwards get to the front by keeping them off to the far side of the play, so use that as your advantage to get a bounce off of your own player or the opposing player. |

True, we are down 0-2, but do you think if or when we score first in this game, that will matter? They're focused on winning THIS GAME, not being down 1-2 going into the next game. Let them worry about that after a win tonight.
By the way, how much better would that interview have been if Wayne's daughter, the real great one, were in it? |

He's kidding.
Anyway. The Devils need to find away to end the Kings' magic. They can't enter another OT situation -- the Kings karma is just too strong right now. If there's an OT, the Kings will find a way to win somehow.
The Devils have thrived on adversity and being the underdog all playoffs. Well, now they are really in the weeds. Time for the gut-check of all gut-checks.
I'm looking at you Parise, Kovy, Elias, Clarkson... goal scorers need be just that this time of year. Can't rely on 4th liners to score your one and only goals. - ElvisLemieux
except for round 1 lol. and even though they were underdogs against the flyers the hockey world knew the flyers wouldnt advance with how they played in round 1 and how bad bryzgalov is |

But, there's a difference between the two scenarios, that series we were home with the series at 1-1. This game is crucial, more crucial than the last one. A 2-1 deficit is a lot easier to overcome than a 3-0 deficit. If we get the first goal, I think we win, but it's going to be a tough job. |

They weren't the underdogs in round one, they were the underdogs after game five in round one though. |

Things are looking like pure balls right now. Devils have had the lions share of attack time, 5-on-4 and 5-on-3 powerplays. Only 7 shots?! Seven. You'd think the last round against the Rangers schooled them in how to find the net through traffic.
Will it dudes. Will it. I don't care who scores. |

It's a testament to how well the Kings are playing. The Kings and Rangers are two teams that feel totally comfortable playing half the game in their zone, and it's a matter of cleanly winning puck battles. |

It's all about confidence. If we have confidence and believe, we are almost unstoppable. We get the first goal and win tonight, it is a whole new series and a fresh start IMO. That's just how i'd look at it if I was on this team. Remember the surge after tying the game Saturday night? |

They are getting the bulk of the chances, Quick is sick and the Devils have to be squeezing the sticks real hard by now. Luck is not forthcoming, they need to make a set of skill plays. |

Can't win if you can't score. Kings are making the Devils offense look inept. Chance after chance with nothing to show for. |

You sound silly. Yes it was an odd no whistle, but its not tilting the other way for Quick. Accept it for what it is. |

That's pretty weak. You gotta blow the whistle 3-4 whacks and nothing happens. The refs have been quick on the whistles come on blotch ways sir. None of that I have vision of the puck bullpoop it's under his pad for a good 3 seconds. |

There's the "redemption call."
The ref was behind Marty, whistle was practically blown in his mouth, he's gotta call that off, there is absolutely no way he sees that. |
