I could see them getting Weber and overpaying for him grossly then descend back into the basement from which they came. - JoeRussomanno
If I'm Nashville I ask for Staal, Stepan, Kreider, and a first... Then let them talk me down to McDougnah, Dubinsky, Kreider, & Zuccerallo. |

and a backup that might be washed up too. - JoeRussomanno
Before they signed Bryz I was thinking they should have signed Vokoun for 3 years and had him and Bob split time this past year, then had Bob play 60 games this upcoming year and then have Bob take over as the true #1 the following year. Would have given us a lot of cap options. I do think Bob can be a #1 somewhere. |

I wont be upset at all, as long as we retain Carle. A mid tier D-man like Gill, Souray, or Wideman would give us a really strong top 6 D, and a decent defensive forward for the PK and 3rd line duty would be good too. Really the offense was fine last year, and the defense got better with the addition of Grossmann. As long as the injury bug doesnt bite us like it did last year, this team could be a Pres cup contendor...
Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
JVR-Briere-Simmonds
Schenn-Couturier-Read
Wellwood-Talbot-Langenbrunner
Sestito, Rinaldo pressbox
Carle-Meszaros
Timonen-Gill
Grossmann-Coburn
Lilja, Gus, Bourdon... - RooNosHockey
Wideman is not a mid tier defenseman. He will be one of the top UFA defenseman available. |

I didn't because there was no guarantee that Bobrovsky would be a number 1 and there still isn't furthermore Vokoun is over-rated and this year showed he's circling the drain. |

Good point, and I do think Bob will be dealt this offseason. For better or worse, the organization is married to Bryz for a while. I wouldn't mind going with a cheaper, veteran presence to back-up Bryz and act as a caddy, then a guy trying to take his job. Hovenin and Heeter will probably be with the Phantoms, give them time to develop. - ravishingone
Plus the goalies just dont gel. Bryz needs a lot of games in a row. We saw this last year. As soon as Lavi started playing him every game, he started playing good. Bob on the other hand is awful when playing spotty. He also needs games to get into a groove. It would just be best for both guys for the Flyers to trade Bob and sign someone like Roloson, that wont mind playing once in a blue moon. |

I see a prpblem with it. A huge problem. Absolutely the last player I want to see them go after. Absolutely the wrong type of player to bring into this team. - MJL
Radulov definitely feels like a Nick Zherdev situation to me. |

Zucc is no longer a Ranger. I think he just signed a 2 yr deal in Russia w/ an NHL out, but he had some bad blood with the Rangers and won't be back regardless. |

I guess that great run with Washington this year proved me wrong. |

He had an injury plagued and down year on a new team that played through 2 different systems.
Over the course of his career he was the opposite of over-rated.. he was pretty significantly underrated. |

I actually think Bob gets dealt at the draft.

It depends on the price. If all you have to give up is like Nick Cousins and a conditional pick if he signs, I would do it in a heart beat. Worst that happens is he is another Zherdev and you stick him in the press box. Best that happens is with Giroux centering him he becomes a 50 goal scorer.... |

goes hand and hand with his age/ wear and tear.
as for the course of his career he hasn't even played in the playoffs since 2007 while playing in a horribly weak division for Florida. |

He might be one of the better D-man in this crop of free agents, but I don't think he is a top pair guy... So your just argueing semantics. |

My main concern with Vokuon at this stage of his career is age with a groin injury. The two aren't a very good combination. I understand why Shero would make the move for him to give MAF more time off during the season. However, as a Flyers fan I like the Pens eating up more of their salary cap with Vokuon as opposed to a Roloson, Biron, or Clemmenson who will probably come in at least $500,000 or more cheaper. |

Wow, when did this happen... Someone might still trade for his rights. I wouldnt mind sending the Rangers a 5th rounder for his rights if his KHL contract has an NHL out. |

Wideman is definitely not a top pair guy but he'll problem be the most highly pursued UFA defenseman after Suter. He'll want and get more money than the Flyers should spend. |

yes but it seems as though he is a locker room cancer a ME first type of guy. Team chemistry may be overrated to some and underrated to others but it's something i believe in...
Radulov is not a guy i would take a chance on... |

He's too expensive for my taste but I think he'll put up 60+ points wherever he ends up next season (including the KHL). |
