I'm trying to figure out the same thing on this retarted video game I'm playing. Frustratingly pathetic. Quite embarrassing.

Meh. Bunny hop celebrator hasn't been able to helm a team. He's a mere assistant coach nowadays.

That's what I meant. Like John Stevens.

Only possible logical explanations are:
1. They want to get rid of Bryz via trade or amnesty (both very unlikely)
or
2. Someone in the Flyers org is insane because they are smoking bath salts or been bit by a zombie.

Or
3. This isn't true.

- coffee junkie

As a backup, Vok sure got a nice chunk of change.

Maybe it was 4. To drive the price up?

Or 4. Flyers wanted to jack the value of the player so Pitt would pay more.

I'm thinking #2...

Spurs lose.

Time for me to take apart a shower door.

No. I'm not putting my fist through it. I don't care about basketball that much.

Or at all.

Well... the "tough" coaches have learned from their ways. Hitch said as much after he was fired by Dallas - that he called all of his former players and asked how he was wrong or what he could have done differently. Coaches like Roger Neilson and John Stevens are good, but I think fare better as assistants and buffers to general-like coaches such as Sutter, Tortorella, Laviolette, Keenan, etc.
- Flyskippy

Player's coach types can certainly learn too. He's in a great spot in LA, but I'd be surprised if Stevens doesn't get calls for interviews this summer.

maybe bryz had some bath salts at the beginning of the season and that's why he looked like a zombie until march

If the NJD lose in 4 does it make it more likely that Parise will leave the org or does it not matter since they made it to the finals?

With that I'm off to bed. Cheers!

Bottom line is likely to be $$. If the Devils can't offer him a deal to come close to somebody like Detroit throwing the moon at him, he might leave.

I still think he stays

When you see what the Devils did to the Flyers and now you see what the Kings are doing to the Devils are the Flyers that far away from winning?

Last year at this time, the Bruins were going to be unbeatable. Pittsburgh was going to have a dynasty after 2009...The Flyers had a lot of kids who learned a lot of lessons this year.

Thats whats great each year. Things change and teams change. I believe the Flyers have the talent but unless they get better goaltending and play better defensively they wont win the cup. Theres noway this team should be in the bottom 10 for GAA.

They shouldn't be, but young teams are going to have ups and downs. Their forwards in the playoffs averaged 25.4 years of age. That's counting the 40 year old Jagr and the 34 year old Briere.

The defense averaged 32.5, but that's including Kubina and Lilja.

I just expect them to be better. It was an obvious area that needs improvement. If the Flyers can play team defense and improve from last year the sky is the limit.

I think they will. So many young guys, stepping into unfamiliar roles.

Schenn, Read and Couturier making NHL debuts. Simmonds and Voracek getting top 6 minutes for most of the year. Hell even Giroux was in a new role as the undeniable focal point of the team's offense.

Feel Doan would be an interesting pick up because he's very intense like Chris Pronger. Doan may have shook Dustin Brown's hand in the line up for his team's exit but he had a lot to say to him. Plus, it was pretty funny watching Doan whip around Richards. If we're going to lose the types of leaders Pronger and Jagr are to this team, replace with Doan.

I believe the biggest thing needed is patience by Management. I remember all kinds of stuff on here on the LA thread about Lombardi being afraid to make a move, and how he was screwing up. But he was patient and made the right moves at the right time. And they built the team up the way he wanted. And now it's working. Lombardi identified a course and stayed true to it. It's not always going to end in a Cup. But I think that's what has to be done. Stay the course and tweak from here on out.

I think Doan finishes his career in Phoenix. Not sure the Flyers want to spend that kind of $ on a forward when defense is needed.

As crazy as this sounds... look at the Rags. Everyone has said how much of an idiot Sather is.. and he has made some stupid moves, but in the process he has created a very strong team.

Subtracting Gomez and adding McDonagh.. Getting Gaborik, Richards.. but building around the other guys.

I think we (the Flyers) are in a perfect situation right now.. Be patient, make a few core moves (adding guys not out of desperation, but smaller moves like a 5-6th d-man and 3rd4th line center)... it will pay off.
