I guess I should have specified- he hasn't watched ANY hockey at all since being knocked out.
I don't see any problem with it. - Giroux_Is_God
Yeah, Jagr said as much too. They were all pissed off. Had a feeling of leaving too much on the ice in that series. |

Ferraro said that Stevens is also responsible for getting Doughty to play a simpler, more responsible game too. He wasn't the problem in Philly. - rockychocbill
What was the problem? All the same players are with him again in LA and winning |

Apparently not. The Kings PK is incredible, a lot of it is Quick as the goaltender has to be your best penalty killer, but their system is sound. |

3rd D pairing and goaltending. |

Dude do you expect anything different? This is a staple in Philadelphia. Disappointment happens all the time. You have to look forward to next year. - stveshdy
Looking forward to next year decade after decade gets old. Meh... Oh well. |

I think he's a great teaching coach. Not a disciplinary coach. You can't coddle your friends or punish some guys (Upshall) while not doing the same to others.
He's a great assistant coach. |

Sutter is the head coach. Stevens is a great intermediary/player's coach. Perfect go-between for teams with a tough head coach. |

When the Flyers fire Laviolette in November, Stevens can return here. |

Just like Richards and Carter have fit in nicely on the ice, Stevens has fit in nicely behind the bench. Second fiddles help round out the orchestra. |

Sutter has changed his approach though. Penner and Doughty have both said that he has a way of challenging you that makes you want to play for him. |

I pretty much agree with all that. I always thought Stevens was moved up too quickly. Some more time as an assistant with Hitch would have done some good. The team's play, and management, didn't really allow that to happen though. |

Pfft. After the Flyers West Stanley Cup Parade down Broad Street (a la Ray Bourque's parade in Boston in 2001), I'll be a Kings fan and hate the Flyers for trading away players who all happened to end up in LA with their two former assistant GM's while blaming Paul Holmgren for the pathetic and embarrassing team they are stuck with for years to come.

Well... the "tough" coaches have learned from their ways. Hitch said as much after he was fired by Dallas - that he called all of his former players and asked how he was wrong or what he could have done differently. Coaches like Roger Neilson and John Stevens are good, but I think fare better as assistants and buffers to general-like coaches such as Sutter, Tortorella, Laviolette, Keenan, etc. |

Hopefully they can figure out a way to move the puck up ice against a team that has an aggressive forecheck. |

Lots of things get old with repetition. Thankfully seasons are less frequent than daily internet complaints. |

Only possible logical explanations are:
1. They want to get rid of Bryz via trade or amnesty (both very unlikely)
or
2. Someone in the Flyers org is insane because they are smoking bath salts or been bit by a zombie.
Or
3. This isn't true. |

Meh. Bunny hop celebrator hasn't been able to helm a team. He's a mere assistant coach nowadays. |
