I wonder with Carter and Richards winning the cup this year if the Flyers will feel a bit embarrassed and be even more bold this offseason.

Agreed, I would look for the Flyers to move Giroux so they can keep Jagr.

Serious question: How many people will watch as Richards and Carter carry the cup around the ice? Or will you look away and turn off the TV?

Looking forward to it.

Giroux may never be the same. His wrists are damaged goods.

I hope not. No reason for wholesale changes this year. What I want to see is a #2 defenseman on the team, a la the Mez acquisition a few seasons ago.

I was talking to Crims no too long ago and he made the point that he was going for the Devils because it was just too soon for Richards and Carter to win. I understand that mindset and I agree with him. On the other hand, I hate the Devils beyond anything else. Richards and Carter winning the Cup means nothing to me. They committed to us (Contract wise) and we didn't commit to them. End result. At the same time as that, I love the players on my team.

I was pretty much always fine with Richards. Didn't like the way he wore his hats, and shook his head, but that's another story. Carter did some good things for the Flyers for sure, but he had the worst luck when it came to scoring clutch goals for us. It's that bad taste that lingers for me. He scored a big one last game and added another good one tonight. He can legitimately hoist the Cup now. I'm over it.

Richards has yet to win the Stanley Cup, but let's not forget he has a Calder Trophy, a Memorial Cup, a World Junior Championship Gold Medal (he captained the 2005 Canadian Dream Team) and an Olympic Gold. The fact of the matter is that Richards never underachieves in big games.

My guess is there will be big games for him in the near future in LA!

There's gonna be big games for Schenn, Giroux, and Bryz too. In the same near future. The trades were made, and both teams made out well. The Flyers' future is bright, and its immediate future is also bright- something that we haven't been able to say in a while.

I don't see your point besides stirring the pot.

He snapped at a question when a reporter asked if the Devils need more from Kovalchuk and Parise, he complained the whistle should have been blown on the Kings first goal.

This is the push the Flyers need to get over the hump. Pronger would have been the perfect motivational Captain for us. A voice in the dressing room and a model of consistency on the ice. He's gone. The bar has been set because we handed LA the Cup and we lost an important player in Pronger.

AFTER HE WAS STRUCK OUT.

IN A NON SAVE SITUATION.

NEVER PUT A CLOSER IN A NONSAVE SITUATION. I'VE SAID IT SINCE I WAS 15. IT NEVER WORKS. FOR ANY CLOSER. EVER. SO STOP DOING IT.
