yeah, I don't find this series exciting in the least. the first round was so great, but the games have gradually gone downhill since. - FlyerGuy
If your referring to the Flyers Pens series, that wasn't typical playoff Hockey. This Series is. I enjoy watching this Kings team play. They do it all the right way. They are so sound all over the ice. From defensive coverages to the breakouts, good fore checking. And Quick is just fantastic. Their defenseman very rarely make a mistake. They play the game the right way.

Thanks, I wasn't quite sure. I really believe the Flyers are going to do something big to get a top tier d-man. Honestly, I don't think it will be thru free agency, but thru trade. I think if Weber does come available, I believe the Flyers have the inside track to get him. Poile and Homer have done a lot of deals the last couple of years, and the Flyers have a lot of really good young talent that already has experience playing in the NHL. - ravishingone
I really want Shane Doan and Shea Weber this summer. |

I'm talking about the general excitement of the series. Whether the Flyers/Pens was a typical playoff series is beside the point. It was just great fun.
yeah, Quick is great. But I just don't think this series is as exciting as a SCF usually is. |

I get what your saying there. But I just really appreciate the way the Kings play. Both teams really.

Maybe a little wishful thinking that the Flyers have the inside track? If Nashville wants a quality young defenseman in return, the Flyers don't have that bullet. There will be a lot of teams making offers if Weber becomes available. - MJL
The Preds are stacked with young dmen in their system. They have no great forwards. The Flyers are loaded with young forward talent at the NHL level. The other teams with that much quantity and quality are out west, where the Preds would not likely trade. |

I still see the Preds wanting a good young defenseman in return as part of the package for trading Weber.

I agree. No matter what's in their system, they could be in danger of losing not only Weber but Suter as well. They must be replaced and nothing within their system can do that. |

I guess I should have defined inside track a little further. Certainly assets are important, but I believe the working relationship that Poile and Homer have developed is beneficial. Certainly Poile will do what is best for his organization, but I certainly believe he will give Homer every opportunity to be in the negotiating process until the last hour.
With that being said, I really would be shocked if Weber goes to a small market team. My assumption (maybe wrongly) is that Weber would be traded to a bigger market team. Certainly teams like the Rangers have better d-man assets, but the Flyers have very good forward assets they could compliment with d-men.
It is going to be a very interesting summer with Weber. Would Poile be willing to go into the season with Weber only resigned to a one year deal? I have to figure he would want Weber signed long-term this summer because if he won't sign a long-term deal this summer, why would he sign one after the 2012-2013 season? |

Not saying you're wrong. But wondering your reasoning. Here are their D prospects:
DEFENSEMEN
LEAGUE PROSP. TALENT PROB. OF SUCCESS
1. Jonathon Blum Pro 7.5 C
2. Ryan Ellis Pro 7.5 C
3. Roman Josi Pro 7.0 B
4. Charles-Olivier Roussel CHL 7.0 D
5. Anthony Bitetto NCAA 6.5 C
6. Teemu Laakso Pro 6.5 C
7. Mattias Ekholm Europe 6.5 C
8. Scott Valentine CHL 6.5 C
9. Taylor Aronson CHL 6.5 D
Strengths: Goal tending and character guys (not stated as D)
Weaknesses: Top 6 Forward

I'm not saying you're wrong, I have no dog in this debate or idea what will happen this summer. Just wondering which teams could trade prospects that would replace these two guys? Which prospects? |

The Kings played great defense and had great goaltending all season. They struggled to score goals but its amazing to see how dominate they have been for a team that just made the playoffs. |

The Flyers could get Weber if they wanted Weber. Problem is, I wouldn't want to give up much of anyone to give him. This is me speaking for myself of course.
I'm okay with giving up players such as Meszaros, Voracek, Bobrovsky and even a young kid like Nick Cousins. Obviously the Pred will want and can get a lot more. |

Carter and Richards putting on a show, in other news Flyers focusing all their energy worrying about Giroux being on the cover of some retarted video game. |

I'm serious, can you think of any prospects that could replace these guys? J. Shultz is obviously not in play. I would think that would be a short list of teams. I don't want the flyers to trade the farm for Weber ether. Just curious.
