Firstly, how do you know what the asking price is? And in my opinion, if they're asking for Jody Shelley, that's too high of a price. Exaggeration yes, but it illustrates my point.

Secondly, Parise playing on the Flyers will give you far more then 30 goals and 60 points. Not to mention that you would be adding a proven player who plays with heart and soul and whose work ethic and character can't be question. So you couldn't be more off base there.

And who cares about waiving him. With the Flyers using LTIR they can't bank Cap space. And that space will already be spent that could've been used for another player.

There is a lot of risk there. And it's not worth taking.

I would gladly take Parise at 7 mill p/year then Radulov at 500k that's for sure.

There is no comparison between the two players. I have zero interest in Radulov.

Exactly Joe. So much more to the game then scoring goals. Flyers don't have problems scoring goals.

Even if the Flyers trade JVR and Schenn I still think there's enough Firepower in the current lineup. In fact I'd rather them get more balance defensively if anything and by that I don't just mean on the Blue-line. I'd be perfectly fine going into next season with this D-corps, the Flyers need more grit up front. Now that could be attributed to the injuries but I think they can get more than what they did from guys like Hartnell and Simmonds along the boards. This team doesn't need to add some wild-card like a Radulov. Imo that would compound the problem.

Next year Couturier should be the third or second line center, Maybe just Maybe Schenn at third line center move Briere to wing, something like that and get a bona-fide 4th line center. If we are going to sacrifice picks and players then by all means I sure as hell hope Homer can do better than Radulov, now I'm really done with this.

Because if Nashville cant trade him to another NHL team, he already has a contract lined up in KHL, so they risk losing him for nothing.

Parise would add leadership, but we have leadership, I would rather someone that can produce the same and half the price. BTW He won 4 MVPs and a player of the year award, so he can't be that bad of a guy if he was a league mvp 4 times.....

If the Flyers were to trade JVR and/or Schenn for a defenseman. I could then envision the Flyers using the remaining Cap space to enter the UFA Forward market

You still haven't answered how you know what the price is.

And if you think that Radulov can produce the same as Parise can at half the price. Your kidding yourself.

What he's done in other Leagues is irrelevant. Zherdev did enough to make himself the 4th overall pick in the NHL

No it didn't say what the price is.

Honestly if what you say is true. That Radulov could be a 50 goal scorer, and he could give you the same as Parise for half the money. Then why would Nashville give him away cheap? And why wouldn't teams be lining up to trade for this guy, and have a bidding war ensue, drving up the price? Maybe we should offer JVR!

The same reason your hesitant. Because you don't know what your going to get. That is the difference between us I guess. I would take a low risk, if the possible reward is high enough.

You wouldn't offer JVR for a reason. If you don't know what your going to get, then why did you state you'd the get the same as with Parise for half the price? And the problem is that you think it's low risk. It's not.

Good to see Gagne healthy, I want the Kings to sweep the Debs, let's just get this season over with so it can be full throttle on crazy trade rumors leading up to the draft.

There was no doubt in my mind Gagne would play in the Stanley Cup Final. Even when the LA GM called him a long shot 2-3 weeks ago. Go Kings and go Gagne!

Are people really discussing Alexander Radulov?

The guy's a selfish twit. Talented, but soft and lazy. I wouldn't touch him with a 45 foot pole.
