I don't remember anybody giving Brian Rafalski this much grief last year
From USA Today
"This was probably the most challenging season of my career, both physically, mentally and spiritually, but it was also the most rewarding and most blessed," Rafalski said. "The decision was made between myself and my wife approximately two months ago. We went through a long process of weighing different factors in our lives. At the end of the day it came down to priorities, with the top three priorities being serving God, serving my family and serving others"
Seems like it's the same 3 reasons TT gave. Why is this an issue for Thomas and not Rafalski? Because Timmay doesn't like that black marxist in the White House? |

Feel bad for the B's having to eat this contract for a year. Is there a chance they just buy him out? Can you even do that? |

why would they buy him out?
his NMC expires, they can just demote him to Providence. He doesn't get paid anyway if he doesn't show up.
off the cap, off the payroll. |

Are you really wondering why people are upset or weirded out by an athlete taking a year off? He isn't retiring, he's taking a year off. Show me the precedent where this happens and fans don't react like this. Devil's advocate at its' finest. |

Again, you don't get why fans are upset by an athlete taking a year off? Please show me the precedent.
Again, you're just arguing here to argue. Is it really that hard to understand why fans are intrigued by this? Really? |

Well hes got a year left on a contract that he has with an organization that... really.. lets face it.. he owes ALOT to.
You know what would make more sense... is if he played out the final year... donated all his earnings to a church.. and then retire to be with his family. |

The Guy is a wingnut. Plane and simple. Talented goalie. Extremely talented goalie. But he has made it clear hes not a team player. Unfortunatley there is an "I" in "Tim" |

Well he could at least finish off his contract like a decent human being... he made a commitment and should stick to it.
If it wasnt for boston he would most likely be rotting away in some european league making 100 grand a year. Boston was giving him a chance when no one else was willing to. |
|
|
|
I guess it's the European in me, but it always creeps me a bit to see American athletes and politicians praising god etc. Luckily hockey hasn't had much of that, due to most players being Canadians and Europeans.
