It's really not.
If the Canucks are taking Komisarek, that's not quite enough, and it's not better than starting the season with both Lou and Schneider.
At the very least, with Komi included, the pick needs to be a 2nd rounder, that still probably isn't quite enough.
Gillis won't trade Lou for that. - Fosco
It would still be a good idea to have both goalies play but you'd have to wonder what the players would think about him playing for the team when he asked to be traded... I still stand by what I first said earlier:
To TOR: Luongo
To VAN: Komisarek, Percy, 2nd or 3rd Rounder |

Still don't think Gillis will pull the trigger on that. Schenn or Franson will have to be involved if the Canucks are taking that much salary back, or Gillis will keep him. Without Komi, I could maybe see Percy and a 2nd, but I still doubt it. Gillis has too much of an ego to get screwed over like that.
Gillis will hold on as long as he has to. Lou is a consummate professional, he'll come back as long as there is an understanding that Gillis is looking for a trade partner, and he will be moved as soon as a deal can be made.
He is well liked in the locker room, and he and Schneider get along great. It's not the ideal situation, but Gillis will keep him until he can find a deal that gets the Canucks something of value. |

So its something like:
Vancouver Trades - Luongo
Toronto Trades - Komisarek, prospect (Colbourne or Percy?), and a pick somewhere after the 3rd round?
??? - OilerFanFromBC
If, if they trade a prospect in that deal it certainly wont be one of those (along with Kadri, Biggs, Ashton, ect). They'd be hard pressed to Get Mueller or Deschamps. |

True, but it will be hard to trade him to Toronto if Komisarek is not included in the deal. It's almost a must that he in part of it because Burke isn't that dumb where he'll take on 2 ridiculous contracts. On the bright side, Komi is almost $1.0M cheaper than Lu (not totally "bright side" but still...) and you're almost guaranteed a solid prospect and perhaps a draft pick. Vancouver isn't going to get a whole lot in return which is what most people expect, but in reality it'll be like:
VAN Trades: Luongo
TOR Trades: Komisarek, Percy, and 3rd Rounder
But hey, it's better than having an overpriced backup! - OilerFanFromBC
TO only has a 1st, 2nd 5th,6th and 7th this year. Doubt Van takes a 2013 3rd rounder but you never know. Then there's the impending work stoppage which would really help clear the decks for the Leafs and lots of UFA's |

Its a fair point... I think there are 2 things to consider.
1) What is CS going to sign for?
2) What kind of return will we get for Lu?
If CS signs for anything over 4 million... or the most we can get for Lu is poop.. then I would definitely look into trading CS. Those are the only 2 things I would think could lead to CS getting moved. - kneughter
CS would bring in a better return, and lack is also Rfa. Timing for lack would work better with luongo. Unless CS can't handle 60+ games

They've actually got similar numbers in the AHL over the past two seasons with Lack playing more regular season games. Scrivens taking the team firther this year.
Goalies are such a crapshoot though. |

oh, we have ourselves a stats man. Sorry, but stats don't tell the entire story with GT's, as many are a direct correlation to the skill and style of play of the team each plays on.
I listed a number of major prospect sites that ranks the GT's on both stats, and observations, and all rank Lack, and the Canucks prospects, slightly above Scrivens and the Leafs. I have also seen both play, and IMO Lack has the higher ceiling, but Scrivens looks to be a capable NHL starter one day, as well.
There's also the fact that many analysts and former NHL GT's have stated that Lack is a sure-fire NHL starter, and is already NHL ready.
As Prock mentioned, GT prospects can be hard to predict, and Scrivens could still end up being the better of the two, but at this point, your original statement, that TO's goalie prospects are better than Van's, is incorrect. |

No one wants Loungo. Its not that he sucks - he's very good. Its his contract plain and simple. Nucks fans should be ready to accept a low return, and i digress it's not because he sucks, it's because his contract sucks and these type of deals ruin teams. Case in point, if no one takes Loungo it will create huge problems for the team especially off the ice so be glad to get anything. As a fan of the Leafs this would be a monster backward step in an already lengthy rebuild. They don't need an older goalie with a monster contract, they need a 1-2 year decent guy who can make the routine saves. And when that was happening they were nicely running in sixth place. It wasn't until 2 bad goals a game were pouring in that things went south. MISTAKE. If any of the 3 prospects they have works out they'll be begging teams to take Loungo. MISTAKE. |

BB would NEVER EVERRRRR do this in a million f-in years. But in the 0.0.0.1 % chance that BB would ever make this horrendus deal, all Leaf fans would gather to burn there Leaf jerseys in bon fire fashion in front of the ACC.
