All you need is Lu and your in playoffs, nothing else I garentee. - pker2theend
I wish I could even guarantee that.
Our premier players, Phaneuf, Kessel and Lupul are not exacly inspiring leaders.
More than anything, the lack of leadership and guts on this team when they folded last year was completely disheartening.
They need a serious attitude change. Basically they have to sac up and quit playing like frightened little girls.

That is the ONLY real compelling arguement, that he can be sent down. Burke doesn't love doing that... but then maybe he won't be around then anyway - GoneFullRetard
I love Lu.. and its hard to say how good he will be in 3-4 years... let alone 6... but I would imagine he can keep that level of play high enough to be worth it.
Its not an ideal situation to send a player down to the minors... but its really not the first time its happened and wont be the last... and even buying out is a possibility as well... but closer to a players retirement... minors is usually the way to go. |

I think, from the outside looking in, and im not pretending that I know tons about the leafs, but I think getting to the playoffs should be the number one thing right now, not building for the future. Because when you get there, anything can happen. I think the leafs should get lou, and be set in goal for a while, because he can, and should get you there. Then anything can happen. Get your players that playoff experience, then work from there. I think top players would rather go to a team that can get to the playoffs and roll the dice, rather then a rebuilding team. - Deadmau55
When a team with the talent level of the Kings gets in, anything can happen.
The talent level discrepancy between the Leafs and the Kings is beyond huge. |

You know the real crappy part.
Think about the leafs teams in the early 2000's that many thought could win the cup...and let's compare them to what the leafs have in place now.
Sundin - nothing even half close
Roberts - nope
Tucker - nope
Domi - brown
High scoring defensive pair in Kaberle and McCabe - nope
Belfour/Joseph - nope
Mogilny - Kessel I guess
They are so far from having a team that allows us to say "maybe a contender" and even with those names above they still didn't win crap...that's how unbelievably far away this team is. - Juice
fixed but still not so good |

Lou could help but the leafs have very little anyways, if we truly are still rebuilding 3-4 years away puts lou 36-37 years old andno longer in his prime, Lou may be worth more than that but from a leafs point of view see why e would have to be cheap - MindFr3eak
Goalies are impossible to tell when there prime is some play late in career (thomas) other like quick may play best earlier in their career who knows? |

I hope so. He spewed truculence all over the media when we got him then went out an assembled the weakest (mentally and physically) team in the NHL.
How was that even possible.

i think the smart thing to do would to extened burke so he dosen't feel the need to try and save his job that way he can build the team. because as soon as your bring in another gm he will change everything and it will take twice as long to get on track. and weather you like him or not the fact is burke is a good gm - The_Vark
I love Burke who else in the nhl has a disney character on their team as a GM...lol, An extension is also fine but would rogers have not done that already before july 1st to lessen the pain and feel confident he would make the right decision or does rogers see a possible playoff next year also and are deciding to roll the dice one last year on burke and see if he can yahtzee one off |

Apparently an old poster had it years ago and (unknowingly) stole it.

Would you have said that last year? or the year before that? heck, would you have said that a couple months ago when we were fighting to make the playoffs? Somethings changed, players, coaches, but overall, we stayed the same. all it takes is one thing, a move, a trade, a loss or a win, the right players can get hot, and boom.

Naw, everyone knows that avatard was yours.
Someone stole mine also, and I b1tched at him for it, but I think it was someone's alt since I haven't seen it since.
Of course I am an alt also... and as soon as the last 4 or 5 months of my ban is done... I'll be back
