Well I wouldn't brag about exactly... but it still doesn't change the fact that Van has been way way way more successful the past decade than the leafs have. Cup or not.. the success is there... there are still accolades that have been won.

Its like fooling around with a girl.... we may not have had sex... but I still got to cum.

And you will still be sniffing my finger because you havent even seen a girl naked in those 8 years.

Canucks need to win now, they needed to make the playoffs for the experience 6 years ago, they need to win now, our dog may indeed have some fleas but yours just has a different kind of fleas......

Not only do you want him, but you figure you should get to dump all your bad contracts in the deal and give up nothing of significance. Like a big magic eraser for all your problems. Good luck with that.
- golfingsince

Of course most (non tank) Leaf fans would love to have him for a few years. He would definitely get them into the play-offs. The contract is a big problem tho and the Leafscarent likely to make a real run while Lu is on top of his game.

So ---- BB might be interested but certainly won't pay much. And Gillis really doesn't have a lot of options. Keeping him and sitting him will only reduce his valuevand the organization has made it clear tha CS is their guy. I really doubt his signs if he doesnt like the way this gets workedout.

I know it would burn you guys to see Lu go to toronto for not much in return but it is a real possibility. Upside though is that you'd get to see him every Saturday night

Neither team has won the cup since expansion

You have to decide if you are happy with what your team has done lately then it doesn't matter what the other think. I have been somewhat happy with our brand of Hockey. I don't like the diving and yapping but besides that I am happy even sans coupe.

The beauty of Lou's term is his ability to help lower level teams reach the cap floor. After the Leafs are done with his services, his real salary will drop significantly allowing another team to take on the remainder of his contract.

I just figure it's best to remind him of a Code of conduct before the thread deteriorates into a name calling school yard fight. The fact that he made reference to my handle, while ignoring my own is also quite funny.

What I'm torn about if if your team is so awesome and elite...why are you so concerned about highlighting the patheticness of one of the leagues worst teams?

There are always potential outs. He might retire, bury him, trade him to a team that needs to get to the floor. No GM will pay full value for that kind of contract though. Combination of Lu making it known he wants out, his NTC and rumored short list of teams and CS's RFA status make the task of doing a deal even tougher.

If it's TO it won't be for much and the other teams rumored to be on his list wouldn't be much better.

The fact that it's TO burns a lot of the "CBC is a big eastern conspiracy" crowd that hangs out in here.

Which aren't that helpful to begin with and, according to Capgeek, may not survive a trade. Still certainly not a full value trade.

yeah, he sure told me. I feel so much remorse for treading over the lines of the coc to address one the many typical leaf=hating trolls around here.

... especially one who expects that we connect his name with his avatard, but can't understand there is a connection between my name and my "team"

Yeah, he sure got me. I am humbled.

Oh yeah, sure have pride in your team 100% that's why we choose sides so to speak.

OBV leaf fans, and i think i can say 95% of leaf fans would like a playoff berth as the kids need that atmosphere/pressure experience to build on and move forward.

What I mean for you is when I say another type of dog with fleas is yours are a little harder, so close yet so far away, your mentality is pretty close to "we gotta win a cup here now" and your frustration level should be as high as ours as the expectation the last couple years to us would be close to yours as we should win the cup.

Do you Canucks fans ever have any NEW arguements as to why that contract is not a huge albatross for other teams to take on?

You do realize that ALL of your arguements are based on what you think *might* happen in the future, when the reality of the contract is what you are committed to, not what is *maybe*.
