So you actually think Komisarek straight up would be enough? You would have to add something. Is Reimer really that elite goalie you've been looking for. It doesn't look like Kadri and Toronto is fitting that's why I added him. Maybe the 1st round was too much but at least a 2nd has to be thrown in there. - sheam316
Nope. Nope. Don't know yet. Nope. Yes he is. Nope.
No one want Lou, there is ZERO market. He has no value. |

Yeah ok...it's "widely known" because you said it?
He's going to the other bottom five lottery team, Columbus...much better fit. As I said earlier, why would he care if it's Columbus or Toronto. Neither team is any good, but he'll be the #1 for sure. - LeftCoaster
Yes, it's widely known because I said it. Are you reading what you write??? It's widely known because well, it's widely known. Public knowledge.
"He's going to the other bottom five lottery team, Columbus...much better fit" Why, because you said it? Guess it's fact. Book it peeps.
I'm not saying he's coming here....just responding to the rumours that it's a possibility.....I'm sorry if I refuse to acknowledge all those "Luongo to Columbus" rumours flying around. But you seriously think someone with a NMC would CHOOSE to go to Columbus over Toronto??? You need sleep, dude....

Leaf fans do what?? I find that the ridiculous offers come from other than Leaf fans, but they have a bad rap that isn't exactly fair. It's a lot like "plan the parade"..... everyone says we say it yet I never see anyone other than other teams fans saying it, and turning around and saying see you say it all the time.
Yeah, I know it was. |

Booby Lou and Van 1st for Leafs Komi and 2nd
Book it! - Old Pappy
Nope. Sorry bud, you don't get the goalie with the best career save % in the NHL over longer than anyone else in the league for nothing.
Its the 1st and Schenn or Gardiner.

I'm thinking for TO Kadri, Komisarek and Toronto's 1st for Lou plus maybe Vancouver's 1st maybe or a lower pick.
We have to remember that Lou is a Gold medal winner and almost won a Stanley Cup and he has struggled but he is a elite goalie where as Komisarek would be a money dump for Toronto and he has been hot and cold this season being benched in some games, Kadri and the 1st would be the real deal. - sheam316

There it is.....both big contract trade me stories of the summer all nicely wrapped up in one fell swoop. Brilliant!
But seriously, the Luongo to Toronto deal, if it happens will go down like this, imo:
To Tor: Luongo
To Van: Komi, mid-level prospect, 5th/6th rounder
If, Burke is somehow able to trade for a top centre or even nab Galchenyuk at the draft, the deal might be:
To Tor: Luongo
To Van: Connolly, mid-level prospect OR 5th/6th rounder
Either way, the Canucks WILL take salary back. |

Most of this is just me having fun until tee off time, that said, I don't think it's common public knowledge that he's asked for a trade. Pure speculation! Gillis loves this guy and he may stay here, because Gillis may trade Schneider.
As for choosing Columbus over Toronto, of course a player would...what the hell is the difference really? Who's the last big time free agent to sign in Toronto? Komisarek? Over the past five years which team has actually made the playoffs once? Who's had the worse record over those five years? You may think you're so much better than Columbus because you're the mighty Toronto...news flash...you're just as bad as they are!
Toronto has or was suppose to draft - 5th, 9th, 2nd, 7th & 7th overall.
Columbus was to draft - 2nd, 8th, 4th, 16th & 6th overall. |

I'll use small words for the head injured Leaf fan here. I hope you get better son.
Simply, you can't just say something and hope its true.
There are 25 teams that have a lesser guy in the goal.
Even if you go down to the folks that should be interested, to say NO ONE is just stupid.
So there is a market. He has plenty of value, and if the Leafs want him, they will have to step up, or not.
Go ahead with Reimer as the starter and see how that goes. Or sign Vokoun...in a year the GM needs to succeed or be gone.
Hell, go for a Lindback...he is a good young goalie. Bernier too.
With Timmy taking the year off, its the Leafs that have NO LEVERAGE ( used capitals so you would understand thats important young man ) if they want an ACE veteran goalie that will literally guarantee the playoffs.
Sorry little man. |

I wouldn't say nobody wants Lou. His cap his is only 5.3, Islanders could use a goalie, columbus could use a goalie although they have Mason. Toronto could use a goalie and Chicago could use a goalie but Van will never trade him to Chicago. Also if the Devils loose Brodeur this year they would like a goalie and Lou would be a good replacement. Also Tampa could use him they would have to dump Vinny first though.
What I'm saying is there isn't much of a market out there but there is a market out there. Let's not forget Toronto picked up a aging Belfour and Cujo and both worked out for them for the short term. Lou could be that goalie to put them into the 4st place spot if not division winning spot. Myself I'm hoping Toronto doesn't grab him, I'm really happy with Mtl's chances during a game with us facing Reimer. |
