If that's all that's on the table from Toronto Im happier keeping Lou and watching the leafs miss the playoffs probably 8 or 9years out of those 10 Lou is signed for - I-own_da-Northwest

His cap isn't even bad and to those who think he'll play till 43 at 1mil a year your crazy, Thomas is making 5mil and he decided to take a year off (aka retire) |

I agree. If it takes an $8 million/6-7 year contract to land ZP I'm all for it. Seems like he doesn't like signing anything longer than 5 year deals - PatsLeafs
Nhl salary structure has changed for the superstars, burke is still in the 80/90's this is one glaring thing I have seen from the very beginning og burke's reign that has hurt us in the signing of a long term young superstar. One of the reasons anyways not the only one.

You'll probably see a multi-player deal with Luongo, Gillis has said we need to change things around here. Maybe he can do it all in one shot?
To Columbus; Luongo, Edler and Booth (13 mil approx)
To Vancouver; Johnson, Nash and the 29th and 30th picks. (12 mil approx)
Everyones happy!! - LeftCoaster
1st things first thou yeah? A 100% certain list that LOU has submitted to the Nucks, I am sure lou's ego may stretch the list a few teams but would those teams even be interested? Going to be interesting for sure and gives us all something to jostle about until that time comes, So it's win win until then!! |

Throw in Kesler and maybe then. Nash is worth Kesler and Booth/Edler alone. |

3.5 is fair.... similar to the Halak scenario... CS hasn't proved anything in a starter capacity. 2 years as a starter.. and then he can cash in.
Anything more than 4 and I would rather just trade him. So not only do we get a poopty return for Lu... getting Komi and a 2nd... we not only save 600 grand in cap relief from the 2? I would rather have Lu for 5.3 then CS for 4.7... at least for the next couple years and especially for THAT return and having to bring on Komi.. who absolutely sucks.
I think right now.. Lu and CS are both great goalies... is one greatly better than the other? Nope... but as of right now... CS is going to get a much better return.
And there are maybe 1 offer sheet once every couple years (if that)... if stamkos didn't get offered sheet over like a 3 month period... I can't imagine CS getting one. - kneughter
One is proven year after year the other is not a luongo by any means but he is headed in the right direction so far.
Train collision imminent if they try to keep Lou. |
