You cannot ask anyone in a job interview about relationships, whether it is a boy friend, a girlfriend and sheep or a weird homo-erotic fantasy relationship with an import player from the Kitchener Rangers. Just isn't legal.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say "that team" was the Habs.

Looking for a "Partner" for Goldmez? Thinking it will help his scoring next year? Maybe if he can score off the ice he'll be able to score on the ice?

I wonder if they asked Jiri Tlusty if he had a boyfriend...

I don't think he interviewed with anyone. Naked dudes wandering around the conference probably turned the GMs off... except JFJ, who was quietly intrigued....

I have no qulams with Franson whatsoever. Up until this Schultz guy I was adamant he needs to stay as he has produced well and been a + player with the limited roll that's been given to him. I am just with the believe that 1 of our moderately good D men will be traded this summer and I don't think Schenn will be for 2 reasons, 1 he won't be considered moderately good after 2 bad seasons, and 2 I think Burke will be more Opt to keep him over Franson because of Carlyle's Defensive system.
- wolfos412

2 bad seasons? He was likely TO's best last year on the backend.

2 years ago. This was his 4th season. And he had tendonitis the first half of his sophomore season from that Ovie hit that messed up his knee.

Another guy who had a great U18, played in a low tier men's league and was on his WJC though he didn't do much.

Ok cool well that makes me feel better that they will be keeping him then, but I still believe my point stands. Franson will be gone this summer, Holtzer will be up flipping between Komi if we can't get rid of him. Schultz will hopefully be a Leaf and pair with Gardiner

I believe Holzer's waiver eligibility kicks in next year and so he either has to be up or down. Can't move him without exposing to waivers. Scrivens waiver eligibility kicks in after ONE NHL game played next year.

I would slow down on putting Schultz in the lineup.

Hasn't played an NHL game, needs to go through camp and MAKE the team first.

Same with #5 overall.

While both Schultz & #5 are exciting, the days of rushing kids into the lineup should be long gone, that's what has been the Leafs problem in the past, too many quick fix expectations with players who aren't ready yet.

Give each draft pick 3 years to develop.

Since I can remember, only Gardiner and Kaberle have made the team without playing in the minors.

Alex Steen is a good example of expecting too much, too soon.

I'd bet everything French owns that Schultz signs a one way deal and is granted a spot as part of the negotiations. He'll be playing in an NHL teams top 6, guaranteed.

I never said anything about the pick. Schultz though, is older, played College hockey and if it is true that he is better than Gardiner the I see no reason why he couldn't make the team next year. Gardiner was our best D last year and I think Schultz better or worse than Gardiner would be an upgrade to our worst D man.

Frig eh, that puts them in a pickle. All I've been hearing is that he's NHL ready I mean he's 27 so I don't think he'll be wanting to wait around some more. Let's hope the Leafs can figure something out like trading Komi + something of value to a team for a Goalie

I still can't believe they've asked some kids "Do you have a boyfriend?"

Don't act like your ears didn't perk up and turn bright red every time that question was asked. We all know you are hovering around the room lurking in various corners doing your best to try and find out who's on your gaydar. Every time that question was asked you heart was just pounding until they gave their answer. After the "no" was givin part of you was happy and releived that they are still single, the other part saddened that you don't know for sure where they stand.

I'll defend Huds here and suggest that it isn't every kid at this thing that he is all hot and bothered by... there is only one... and he's dreamy.

Oops, 1 year younger than me. Still, even Eakins has been saying he's ready to make the jump. What do you think Huddle? Can the Leafs make space for him?

It's crazy, we have
Phaneuf - Gunner
Gardiner - Liles
Schenn - Franson

Komi
Holzer

Potentially Schultz

We need to unload some guys, I say Franson will be one of the easiest. Liles I would ship out but I don't think happens because they just signed him last year. Komi is almost un-movable unless you take back something equal.
