The rosters of those Avs teams included Forsberg, Sakic, and a few other talented players that carried the stats of the team. Secondary assists count too. I'm not saying he's awful, but he hasn't done anything near that since he has become "the guy."
- BuffaJoe
He had 59 assists in 09/10 as the guy.
No Sakic, No Forsberg.

4.5-5 would be reasonable with cap inflation. People have just seemingly crowned this guy king, which is another reason so many seem to want to get rid of Statsny.

Most Avs fans don't. It's the other teams fans that are making up the reasons.

With the cap looking like it's going to 70.3 mil, they now have 11.7ish mil to play with needing only to sign Ennis and Kaleta. They can move Roy and Sekera and bring in Stastny and still have 7 mil to play with.

kaleta should be in the 1.2 mil range short term... what do you think darcy will get Tennis for?
hopefully something like a sekera contract if he can..

I figure 1-1.2per for Kaleta on a 1-2 yr deal, 2.5-3per for Ennis on a 2-3yr deal.

I say keep Roy untill the trade deadline... Pro-rated, we probably get a 1st round pick for $ 3million... On draft day would you pay $3 million for a 1st round pick?
I think Vanek should be traded for help up the middle and Roy moved to the wing...
- campbell
they can't afford to throw away another season for picks.. just sayin

Not sure about on this site, but a few friends of mine are Av's fans, and they are fed up with the 180 he's done since 09-10. Touche on the 09-10 roster, I'll give you that. His decline since then leads me to believe he is one of those players that has found comfort in being one of the guys with total job security as an NHLer, and has stopped trying as hard to improve.
First 3 seasons = GREAT talent around him
09-10 = Remembers the work ethic of great around him, added pressure being the #1 guy, first year with a new, huge contract
2010-present=can't lose his job, so why give 100%
He's got enough time left in his prime to get back to his better days, but I really don't think he's a "great" player, and certainly doesn't have the grit the Sabres need.

Schenn + Kadri for Crosby and Malkin!!!!

That would never happen, it would take at least Schenn, Kadri, and a 2nd. [

If Kaleta makes over 1 mil its an overpayment

This is a problem IMO.
The goal is to win the cup, not just get past the 1st rd.
- dadeadhead
so we need a top line center
2 bruising wingers that can score
a 4th line
a d man that hits anything
and a consistent starting goalie to add to the team this off season
