He turned David Jones into a back to back 20 goal seasons. He hasn't been paired with top end wingers for most of his career. Give him Vanek and Pommer, Buy the ticket, take the ride.

Agreed. He seems like he'd be the kind of guy who is easily bitten by the lazy-bug as soon as things get tough. We already have enough of those players. I think Staal is way more attainable than people think, too. Everyone wants to pay a huge price for him, when the guy's a UFA next year.

I know but if we trade for Statsny, we obviously would deal Roy, therefore those two would be swapping. Statsny would take Roy's role of one of the 3 top centers on this team, the production would not increase that much more to be worth the contract.

With the cap looking like it's going to 70.3 mil, they now have 11.7ish mil to play with needing only to sign Ennis and Kaleta. They can move Roy and Sekera and bring in Stastny and still have 7 mil to play with.

They both play like they are under 6'0 and both dissapear for long stretches, ask Av's fans why they are so willing to trade him. He is also listed as one of the more over paid players in the game.

Not that I'd want this to happen, but Roy isn't a given in the move we need to make for a center. We could easily give up picks for a center and Roy (or Roy+) to someone else for picks, prospects, whatever they need.

The rosters of those Avs teams included Forsberg, Sakic, and a few other talented players that carried the stats of the team. Secondary assists count too. I'm not saying he's awful, but he hasn't done anything near that since he has become "the guy."

I say keep Roy untill the trade deadline... Pro-rated, we probably get a 1st round pick for $ 3million... On draft day would you pay $3 million for a 1st round pick?
