staal and pommer would make a great #1 pk unit and I think they would work well together - homiedclown
Agreed , and all the dumb asses that voted Kane .
We have enough crap in this city to see on the news at 11 and 5am. |

I voted "YES!!!" although I'm not nearly that emphatic. Jordan Staal is a welcome addition, but I'm not sure Buffalo has anything that Pittsburgh wants, not worth giving up for Staal anyway. |

True, but there is always the possibility of the three-way trade, which seems to happen in the NHL more than any other sport. If a team that's rebuilding has someone Pittsburgh wants, say Nash in Columbus (I'm too lazy to think very hard about this) they might be intrigued by Buffalo's first(s) and a prospect, Staal goes to Buffalo and Nash goes to Pittsburgh. That way, the Pens aren't just dumping him on a team that is rebuilding. |

Stafford, Pysyk, 1st for Staal. Sounds a bit much but considering 15 other teams will be bidding for his services... |

what are you talking about. I would take Patrick Kane over Jordan Staal any day of the week. That kind of talent doesn't just grow on trees. As for the news stuff...get real man. He's 23, and a famous pro athlete what do you expect him to do. Dedicate his entire summer to volunteering at a homeless shelter? |

Kane's not a center. They still need help up the middle more than they need it on the wing. |

Myers and Roy for Getzlaf and Sbisa.............just me talking here and nothing more, before everyone gets plugged in.
Sabres and Pens are bad trade partners.........Staal will stay with the Pens. |

... http://blackhawks.nhl.com...lub/player.htm?id=8474141 He's a center. And even if he was a winger players like that should not be looked over just because of a certain need |

Kane is a RW they moved him to center, and he can stay with the Hawks as far as i'm concerned. |

so what your saying is they should get rid of staal because they cant have 3 top 6 centres but the centre piece for your deal is Roy who you state is a 70 point centre? you need to take sense making 101 my friend |
|
|
|
to me, Hodgson and the 12th pick are the only things on BUF that interest me.
unless they want to do a Meyers-Staal swap.

agreed. Staal isn't being traded because he doesnt want to be here, he might be traded because we cant afford him... similar to the TB situation a few years ago. So when these people propose trades where we are taking back 4+ million in salary... it doesn't make any sense |

go ahead and give me your argument. his best year was last year at 50 pts in 62 games
thats with crosby missing time so yeah he had time on the second line...he is an excellent center but in no way shape or form is he a first line center. |

He is not a first line centre..... NHL wide, maybe on a team that is devoid of a true one, he is a great second line centre though. You can tell Staal will break out if he has some good top 6 talent around him and has that second line minutes for the full season. He can pot 30 goals coming up and 60-70 points is well within reach now. He's 23 and his game has only been getting better. He is not a player that has reached his ceiling.
The Leino comment is apples/oranges. |

HAHA Buffalo's misconception of what a #1 center actually is. First its Roy and now its Staal. |

If or when Jordan Staal becomes available for trade, I'd like to see a trade like this go down
Staal + Martin (9 million)
for
Kane + Montador (9.050 million)
This would be the trade of a lifetime for both players. Staal and Toews would form quite the duo in Chicago, and Kane would absolutely FLY playing alongside Crosby.

He has one less goal than any remaining player in the playoffs currently and he only played 6 games. Staal had 6 goals in 6 games. Parise, kovalchuk, and Kopitar have 7 goals.
Dismiss him all you want he is a great player. Who cares what label you put on him, he is a gamer. |

What everyone misses with this guy is that in a way you'd be buying low in that he's been playing 3rd line minutes. He is a younger, faster, more physical version of Drury. You notice this guy every time he plays.
Any trade would have to involve real players and not the garbage we want to get rid of. Staff and Roy? Laughable. They'd want guys like Hodgson or Foligno of McNab. If I am Pittsburgh I wouldn't move this guy. |

Not that any of them are bad players, but Pittsburgh cant afford to take chances on unknown commodities if they trade Staal (which until the new CBA is ratified nobody has a clue how it will play out). Pittsburgh regardless of their round 1 follies this year are still a threat to win it all. They cant lose big piece like Staal and take on draft picks and younger unknowns. |
