Listen all you crazy people, Justin Schultz is very much heading to Toronto because of Gardiner, thank god. Next this leaves either franson or gunner expendable. I say no to schenn because hes the only tough defensive defencemen we got and i like schenn so all you guys can just shut up and leave him be. Schenn is going to destroy come playoff time so pipe down haters. I say gunner will be the most expendable since franson is a very good player.

Next note, Luongo is very much coming to the leafs, and the deal is going to go through, thus we have a goaltender that will bring us to the playoffs and shut up more than a billion leaf fans. Proof: http://www.vancitybuzz.co...eets-luongo-to-the-leafs/

Onwards: Brian Burke mentioned that we still needed a centerman and a power-forward with size, grit, and scoring abilities. For the power forward, i believe chris stewart makes the most logical sense for the leafs, he is all of that and he fights. A really good low key pick up at a good price since st louis blues are not too fond of him.

For centermans, we can go onward of getzlaf being available, jordan staal, etc etc but really guys, do you honestly think we would get those players? Ducks have so much money, they will resign both getz and perry. Jordan staal will be resigned or go to carolina. I believe Paul Stasny makes the most sense at a cheap price with salary of course going the other way to balance the trade.

Thus our line-up next season:

Kessel Grabo Lupul

Stewart Stasny Kadri

Frattin Bozak Kulemin

Brown Stecks Crabbman

Phaneuf Schenn

Gardiner Schultz

Liles Franson

Of course it has legs. This is Toronto. Where there's smoke there's fire, but the odds are low. I think Double B has it set in his mind that Reimer is the eventual #1.
- Phenom

Reimer and scrivens are so unproven, and you have no clue how reimer will role next season with that concussion stuff he had.

Even john bernier, unproven can be a bust.

Luongo makes the most sense and will be most likely coming to toronto putting us into a very good chance to make the playoffs. Along with justin schultz coming, cant wait.

I really want burke to bring chris stewart to toronto, best power forward available in my opinion and at a good price. Add Paul stasny is linemate before from colorado... we got some immense power and chemistry happening here.

think the pricetag on statsny will still be to high, to warrant paying him almost 7 mil a season. stewart i like.

big anders lindback fan.. never know, could be had for a depth player and a 3rd rounder or something like that. he's the same age as reimer, i do believe. makes for a risky situation next season, but he's bound to require less assets than luongo, will take up less cap room, and will still give reimer a platform to retake the podium.

Way better off going with Reimer and Scrivens than the 33 year old Luongo with a 10 year contract. If Reimer and Scrivens play well, great, we have goalies. If not, draft lottery. With Luongo, you're taking a goalie who is close to his mid 30s, can't handle the pressure, is on the decline and has a 10 year contract.

Well i hate to burst your bubble, though im just going with my rumor of a 90 percent chance the deal is almost on the verge of completion.

Why would the Leafs go out and get Stastny and then put him on the 2nd line?

Stastny wouldn't come cheap. In fact, it'd probably cost the Leafs Kadri, whom you have playing on his wing. And that would only be the beginning of what it would cost. The Avalanche aren't in a hurry to dump their #1 center and definitely wouldn't do it for cheap either.

So is that like an E4 or an E5 in Eklund terms?

Stasny im not sure of his price tag, he is a high paid declined player at the moment. I doubt he will cost alot in my opinion, we got liles for a second rounder.. colorado cant be that bad to deal with. Chris stewart i like ALOT as a big power forward with grit.

Lineback is in the same position as john bernier both unproven dont know what to expect from them. I agree with your statement but luongo is very much coming to the leafs and the leafs will have or will be in the playoffs most likely.

Dont really know, eklund never updates hes to busy talking about some habs coach instead of rumours but i saw this today and looked interesting coming from vancouver which people have stated florida has set goalies, tampa is not interested, and the leafs look like the destination point for him. As long as burke unloads komisarek, im kind of okay with the deal since we will have playoffs surely.

These Luongo rumours shouldn't be taken seriously until something is said by legitimate sources. Not saying it isn't going to happen, but whats being posted should not lead people to believe he is coming.

I already posted in the oilers blog and decided to ask you guys because it seems only canadian fans know real hockey....all the plugs in my blog are legit retarded i think

give me an honest opinion but what is jordan staal worth

the guy has averaged 50 pts/ year the last 3 years with his best year being this past at 50 pts in 62 games.

i say NO WAY is he a #1 center...our bloggers are suggesting we give up everything to go after this guy and i just dont see it....at all

IMO he is a 2nd line center and nothing more. sure he can kill penalties and whatnot but he will never score 70 or more pts in a year

Luongo can't handle the pressure of Vancouver but he's going to waive his NTC to withstand the pressure of Toronto?

Burke hates cap circumventing contracts but he's going to acquire Luongo?

The Leafs should not be taking Canuck garbage. A 33 year old with a 10 year contract with middle of the pack stats despite playing for the President Trophy winners is not the way to go.

How about i put it in more simpler terms for you, Jordan Staal is not being traded, he will be resigned to approx 5-5.5 mill. Crosby on the other hand might be taking a pay cut for his condition.

Offensively, he's not a 1st line center unless the team is going to be ultra defensive. But defensively, this guy is what you need to win a Cup. He's proven that. He has averaged 20 minutes a game every year he has been in the NHL. He's definitely worth a lot, especially to the Penguins. They most likely aren't going to trade him but if they do, it won't come cheap. I think people forget he was drafted 2nd overall, how young he is and how many intangibles he brings to his team.
