The Leafs need to hire Gary Roberts as their team trainer...... imagine how much faster our team would be!
- cor99

dead serious.
at least a handfull of leafs looked out of shape last season.

I could care less about him....... I hate Chris Neil more.... hes a (frank)ing wiener
- cor99

I once threw my remote off my tv and shattered it into pieces when Lapierre played for Montreal. If I met him in person, i would poop on his face.

at least neil fights his own fights....instead of just jaw wagging and flopping around like a wounded sea lion.
Lapierre is an absolute clown.

No he went to the net, took crap from the defense, got pushed onto the goalie and got up and stayed there despite being cross checked by the defender.

Show me one Leaf forward who did that in our top 6........ exactly

- cor99

i didnt find any but in all honesty i didnt look

Edit: ok i did take a gander

Agreed.

And I think the answer to our top & bottom 6 could potentially be staying pat...

Frattin, Kadri, Colborne, and potentially D'Amigo could end up being full time contributors next year...we just need to find a way to get rid of some contracts re: cons, amry, lombo...

- Pen15

absolutely.
wait till the dead weight contracts are off the books at seasons end then see what ufa's are kicking around july 1st 2013

for sure.. i think even ashton can do armstrongs job efficiently.

top 6 is the biggest challenge. a top flight big center.. and a big time threat on the wing to take macarthurs spot are the two big ones for me. maybe even a kulemin - chris stewart type swap would offer a bit of a shake up..

If we land Schultz I see no reason behind keeping him. We have way to much defense and the reason we extended Liles' contract was to give Gardiner a mentor and all that veteran b.s
- optimus-reim

I think extending Liles was a mistake, let alone the timing of it. I get the mentor idea to a degree but for 4 years? Not going to suggest that Gardiner has it figured out already but I think the side of his game that needs mentorship is in his own end and I don't know if Liles is the best guy to be learning from. I guess trading Franson would be a whole lot easier as Liles has NTC (any ideas what the parameters are?) but I'm confused as to why Franson is always the guy offered up in trade scenarios. He's 24, has a cannon of a shot, and is a giant. He had almost the same amount of points as Liles in less games and avg ice time per game.

ahhh understand.

probably dislike kesler the most. but lapierre, burrows, bieksa.. even edler.. find pretty easy to not like all of em. luongo.. higgins.. both sedins. way to many d-bags on one team.

Not sure about Ashton doing it, at least not next year. Ice got Kadri(if he's still here) on full time second line duty. Frattin third line, Kulemin traded, Mac 2nd.

And because you bastards decided to rebuild properly, you'll have success in the era of HDTV and probably 3DTV too.

Yes, they decided to rebuild properly. Instead of taking the short cut, like Burke did, and piss away 1st round picks, the Oilers decided to keep all their picks and tank properly. Now, they are building a team that has a solid core of elite prospects that will give them an actual chance to win a Cup.

Not sure why this board is littered with people wanting to dispose of Franson.
Bad move in my opinion.

think i'd rather see mac traded before kuli.. but if the price is right for both, or they can be used in packages with some depth to lure in some higher end talent for those spots.. i'm all for it.

maybe kadri should get some serious time between kessel and lupul for awhile if burkie can't bring in the extra center. at this point.. might be great for kadri.

rather see ashton with the marlies... but if need be, dont mind seeing him on that third line wing. rather see him there than armstrong. if kuli has to go.. say, a kuli, mac, prospect type combo for a higher end winger.. all for plugging frattin on grabovski's wing with said winger.

Because he has the most potential and we have way to many defensemen as it is. We can trade him for depth, possibly a top six winger, prospects and or picks. He's going to get nowhere in Toronto because of the depth. Might as well trade him while he still has value and upside. I'm not up for trading Schenn either as we need a guy who can throw hits. Phanuef and Schenn are the only real two guys that will use their body. Gunnar, Liles, Gardiner and Komi won't. Komi will but he's very reluctant now-a-days.
