Disagree on A.....Agree on the rest. I thought it was shrewd getting him for a second rounder, likely could've gotten at least a first for him considering what guys were going for at the deadline.

The only thing funny is your lack of an idea...

I'm not saying they can compete with the team they have now....you keep forgetting that for some reason. You pick at whatever point you think you can oppose. They need to get better and hopefully they will. All I'm saying is that it's not impossible that they will win with them....granted they are given the PROPER supporting cast with decent goaltending.

Besides, have they faced them in a playoff series yet? No. Therefore, speculation. Look it up. End of discussion.

The difference will be the core players and the core players in Toronto are weak when compared to the contenders across the league. The Leafs haven't made the playoffs because they can't handle the contenders in the NHL. That's not speculation. It's a cold hard fact. Look it up. End of discussion.

That's why it's speculation. It's not a fact that this team hasn't faired well against those others in a playoff series because it HAS NOT HAPPENED YET. And the core players are not the be all end all of a team......as obviously seen in these playoffs. It's a team game and the supporting vast and goaltending are just as important as your core or impact players because more often than not, they go as the team goes....as a whole.
