Burke screwed up. Sugar coat it all you like. He can undo the mistake by trading Kessel and rebuild the way he should have from day one. - Unholy_Goalie
Know what, this is getting tiresome. let's have a change of pace.....
Is there anything you LIKE about this team....at all? Of course I'm assuming you actually are a Leaf fan.... |

Lupul is a weak link, Kessel is a a great no2 on a contending team, and Phaneuf - well I'm not the biggest fan, but I'll wait for final judgement... this 'core group' is quite a mess - Nastradamus
Stack that up against the Flyers or the Penguins or the Rangers or any true contenders. See how long they last in a playoff series.

I'm fairly certain Grigs will be available at 5, but whether he's great... well that's a whole other discussion. I would take Murray if he was still available at 5 (don't see it happening, but hey), atleast that would let us move a few of our young D for young forwards - Nastradamus
oh man, if the leafs can get Murray at 5, plus sign Schultz to go along with gardiner. |

You could be right, I'm not saying you're not. BUT, I think it's still too early to tell. Once we actually have a playoff TEAM, operative word TEAM (not just 3 key members) and it fails miserably with no hope, then I will agree with you. Until then, the jury is still out, imo. And Lupul a weak link? Well, that's where you ARE wrong. He's a heart and soul guy that can produce. |

Lebrun said Leafs aren't in on Luongo but could sneak in there, and that they're interested in Vokoun and Lindback.
He also said Tim Thomas might take the year off. |

I like that our goaltending next year, as of right now, consists of Reimer and Scrivens and that means we have a damn good chance to tank it next year. |

i think theres plenty of teams that would be interested in getting kessel. florida has huberdeau, bjugstad, howden (not saying we get them in a package, just listing their good pieces, same with rest of teams i list), rangers have kreider, erixon, even del zotto and mcdonagh, islanders with strome, nino, kabanov, dehaan, philly has schenn and bobrovsky, pittsburgh has bennett, tangradi, morrow and despres, carolina has rask, dalpe and murphy, tb has connelly, namestnikov and panik, washington has kuznetsov and neuverith, detroit has plenty of names, nashville has lindback, blum, watson, stl has tarasenko, schwartz, colorado has siemens and hishon, im getting bored of listing the names, but you get my point. im pretty sure a team would be interested and be willing to give up a nice package for kessel. it might not be a seguin, hamilton and knight, but it will be similar |

Grigs definitely has question marks but he has the potential to be great and bottom line is we need that big #1 centre. He provides that and if we can get him, we gotta take him and hope that case of mono was what was holding him back.
I'm pretty sure if Murray is there at #4, which I think he will be, the Islanders would be retarded not to grab him. They NEED a force on the back end more than anything, but again, this is Garth Snow picking so that could mean anything. |

which is why they should deal them while they have value. kessel and lupuls values are as high as can be right now. pha9 we let him play like 20 games, do what he did last season at the beginning before his play fell off and trade when his value is high. stock the cupboards with elite prospects and picks to fill the cupboard. these guys won't want to resign with us when their contracts end if we cant be competitive. only phaneuf might but he will prob want a similar contract. kessel we will have to over pay greatly to keep him around and lupul will want a long contract to stay and we all know burke dont do no long contract |

I know as much about it as you do....and vice versa. Why? Because you won't know until it happens. It's only speculation. Look at what happened in this year's playoffs.....nobody can predict that. End of discussion. |

Yup, Ned was so cool.....but I understand why they killed him off storyline wise. But Tyrion, no way. Besides, they didn't 'show' him dying so I think he'll live. |
