I guess when someone brings facts to the retard convention that's an appropriate response.

As you were little one....on your knees in front of UG.

Is it ok if i use your "stats" argument on this one? You seem to like bringing up the Kessel trade as if it were a good one.

Johnathen Toews

2007-2008 BLACKHAWKS 64 24 30 54 11

2008-2009 BLACKHAWKS 82 34 35 69 12

Tyler Seguin

2010-2011 BRUINS 74 11 11 22 -4

2011-2012 BRUINS 81 29 38 67 34

Using your argument for Gardiner and Doughty, Tyler seguin is on pace to become the next John Toews. So Brian Burke traded away a future Toews for Phil kessel.

Awesome.

WAIT WAIT WAIT EDIT: but he didn't know!!!!! Oh darn. Poor burke.

Maybe if he let us tank like normal teams who are rebuilding.
- optimus-reim

it's not even really tanking, it's just letting the ship run it's course, without picking up gerber to slow down the journey

let's see what happens in the offseason. I have a feeling that Burke might go after him. I can see him working here. He's got elite talent but just needs to work harder.
- TML4Life85

I highly doubt that. He is not even on the radar of being a Burke player, plus we already have a Semin. His name is Kessel, but at least he's producing and stays out of the hospital (knocks on wood). Having said that, I can maybe see it happening if Burke fails to do anything he else he had been working on. You never know.

But he's right.....we've never had prospects in the system like we have today. Look at the Marlies. Proof is in the pudding my friend.

Burke pulls off good trades that is why I stated that he could end up grabbing us a 2nd for him. I doubt Komisarek will be traded though. Lombo will be in the AHL guaranteed.
- optimus-reim

true but if he can't make it happen take whatever they offer.

you're right, but I was under the impression that this team was poised to make a strong playoff run this year, and if your not in the playoffs to win the cup, then why are you there. From what I understood at the beginning of the year management was pretty satisfied with how this roster looked, and I agree we have a very good supporting cast, but they need to realize the need to draft/bring in elite talent. I would rather go through draft.
- Nastradamus

I would to. Worry about the draft and seize other opportunities as they present themselves.

I understand, but personally.. I could care less about the playoffs next year. If the team makes them.. Great. It's got to be through education and adversity to prepare the core for what happens next... Not desperation.

That's where room exists for Burke to make his next group of mistakes. I get that.. But at this point.. It's assumption. Rather try to find a silver lining than be another leaf fan who's searching out excuses to cut himself I guess...

yea, and besides the fact that we also gave up dougie hamilton, who's one of the top D prospects in the world, but no big deal

But Semin has more potential than Kessel and I wouldn't mind having him, given he works harder and have a Grigo play between them. That'll be a killer line: If and only if we land him and he turns it around and becomes THAT guy!

I'll take a 4th for Army if I was Burke. We have enough players in the system to play his position and do more than he can. If a set of teams come asking for Komi,Army, Connolly and Lombardi for 3rd and 4th rounders, I say do it without a question.
- TML4Life85

I think we'd be lucky to get a 4th. Not that he's worth only a 4th, because I think he's better than that, but his recent numbers and injury woes diminish his value unfortunately. In fact, if not for those factors, I would argue against trading him at all.

I never said the Kessel trade was a win. But you also can't claim it's a loss at this point as nether Seguin nor Kessel have reached their full potential...

And yes, based off the stats, Seguin has the potential to be a Toews player. Based off that same logic, Kessel has the potential to be as good as any 80+ point man in this league...

Exactly. If we had kept Brent then It would have been a sick PK unit with him, Crabb and Brown and that also makes a sick 4th line. I don't get why they didn't re-up him. Oh Burke the blunnder he makes are crazy sometimes.
- TML4Life85

And he wouldn't have signed Dud-puis......Would have cost around the same and Brent was twice as useful.

As much as I hate the Kesel trade, I think we should avoid going there because it causes as Leafs fans nothing but headaches. Time we move on and hope that whoever we draft 5th this year is going to address our issues at 1C and Grigs fits the bill and also whoever we get in the top 3 next year also fits the bill. Let's move on people, nothing can be achieved by crying about this over and over. Come on all!

Anybody who would have replaced Ferguson would have had to do a rebuild. Sadly Burke is doing it wrong. We may have prospects and all that jazz but do we have a number one center? No. Do we have a good goalie or a goalie in the minors? Scrivens, wasn't drafted, so NO. Yes we have prospects and yes we have 1st round picks but what I don't understand is that Burke stated you make a team from the crease out and yet the first thing he did was land a star forward and has yet to address our goalie situation. That is all I'm saying about the matter,

When did that turn into the argument...

How can you assess (with finality), a trade that has yet to see all the pieces fall into place?

You realize how retarded that is right...

Totally agree with you. Let's hope that if he can't be moved then he goes back to being healthy and plays to his potential.

In your earlier post you were quick to jump on the fanbase in helping perpetuate 'decades of failure'....

I asked you if we should expect you to not tune into any games next year....or if we should expect you to cease & desist HB....

Still yet to hear back...

Thanks.
