Simply put he knows hockey unlike 90% of the people on here who just rant and vent about how the Leafs should do this and do that while what they're saying has absolutely no reasoning and makes no sense. The idea is when you rebuild you don't sign 2nd pairing veteran dmen and fragile forwards. Burke is a dumb ass. He can make amazing trades but outside of that I don't see anything beneficial from him and his white hair. - optimus-reim
As I said lots of the time I agree with him but sometimes he's way off |

I agree, but if we can't find a taker for Army......can't really bury him in the minors. As for Komarov, I don't know enough about him to judge. His name sounds like a good player, but time will certainly tell. LOL - Phenom
Army will have takers and Komarov should have stayed in Russia. Time will be the truth telling medium whether or not he belongs and can be good and if he sucks then bury him in the minors and hand Crabbs his job which he did so well last season. My expectations for this team in the upcoming season is bottom 3 finish and land mackinnon. |

Can't we just trade him? Surely we can package him with someone valuable to up his value... Like Ek. |

Semin is Detroit bound. Him and Datsyuk has solid chemistry at the Worlds. - jbold[/quote
Doesn't alwasy translate to the NHL though...that big ice and softer play makes a huge difference. |

Oh I know, but I think that will play into Semins decision and interest in playing for Detroit. |

In one statement you call out the 90%, and in the other you seem to put yourself into it...
We have a deeper prospect pool today than we've had in 50yrs...
We have more 1st round picks in our system today than we've had in our history...
Development of these young prospects doesn't happen over night. |

All it takes is a good coach, GM and hard working players to make one of the bad apples turn it around. I can see him working there. - TML4Life85
I think Semin needs to and will go somewhere out of the spotlight and where he is not 'the guy' and will compliment a good playmaking centre. Long Island? Colorado? |

Army will be gone for a 3rd. 2nd if we're lucky, and we do have Burke at the helm so I'll go with the latter. |

but no elite players in the system other than Kessel, and no hands down elite prospects in the system (aside from arguably Gardiner)
ask St. Louis how a lack of a first line works in the playoffs |
