Depends on if you win the lottery or not. And the draft year. - Unholy_Goalie
So it's not a hard and fast rule - you know when to make exceptions, but Brian "Check Out the Stanley Cup Ring on my Finger" Burke isn't smart enough to know when?
Maybe you could phone him? |

Like who? McKenzie had him at #2 in February. ISS still has him at #4, where Faksa isn't even in the top 10. Button's an idiot who's been bounced from several teams...likely because he presented draft rankings like he's currently doing for TSN. - p_zub

I heard many times it was the ONLY chance.. Somewhere.
I'm so lost in the mental warfare I don't know what to believe anymore..
So lost in all the waffling, without the know all hockey god to tell me what I should be thinking. - joel878
Mmmmmmm....waffles....
Wedgie out!

5th overall for 7th overall, 2nd round pick and 3rd round pick.
Practically the same as forfeiting the pick. - Unholy_Goalie
Your using a deal the same GM that signed Jeff finger made.. As a routinish every day trade, and one the opposing teams GM is already aware he'll make before the call is even made.
Do you even know what you're talking about anymore? Do you have a job? |

Well he's here, turned out despite being a partying idiot to be the best Nashville forward. Probably sign for 25 years at 7.9 mil in New York after they trade Gaborik, always need a new nutty contract. - AdamFrench
What are the odds Semin takes off next?
Hunch tells me that if Parise doesn't resign with New Jersey, Semin goes there. |

"them"
he has traded 1 top five pick in his career! (before you bring up the whole sedin situation don't because that was a special case and he ended up with two top 5's)

It made sense before Gardiner became Gardiner. |

Really though, I have a hard time believing you're earning more now than as a head scout for an NHL team, or a scouting service. Why haven't they hired you yet? |

2013 should be a good one and if the Leafs keep Reimer and Scrivens in net, they have a damn good shot at MacKinnon. |

Pretty bold statement made by someone completely meaningless to the hockey world in every sense.
Biggest draft decision you've ever had to make is whether to draft the three cheese pizza pops from your moms freezer to your moms microwave, or draft the delux pizza pops..
And you really think you have ground to belittle Brian Burke?
Right. |

Semin's a pile of dung gone complacent by letting OV and Backstrom take all the heat. Can't see NJ trying for him, maybe somebody like NYI will give him the cash. If there was a ever a real "KHL threat" it's him, but something tells me nobody will really give a flying (frank) if he left. |

Seems perfect for Vancouver. Given the way he fights and all. |

He's 30 and "doing as expected" is meaningless. He cost us a 2nd round pick which could be better used to draft and help rebuild.
What Burke signed him for is again meaningless. The rebuilding process is about collecting and developing young players. Liles isn't a young player and he cost us an asset. Right now, he should be at the top of the "to be traded" list right next to Komisarek. - Unholy_Goalie[/quote]
