Quit dancing, it doesn't change a thing.

Quit the Strawman arguments and you might stand a chance.

You can defend it all day, Filatovs in Russia, and liles is here. With all you're whining about draft picks wasted, you can't bash the leafs move, and bash the leads for missing out on ottawas move. It's what one would call hypocritical. Not that there's a chance of that happening with you.

The Senators took a gamble on a highly talented, 22 year old player with a 3rd round pick. The Leafs wasted a 2nd round pick on a 30 year old who got replaced by Gardiner. See the difference yet? I doubt it.

Or you trade down, draft Faksa and get two more draft picks.
- Unholy_Goalie

faksa isn't gonna fall very far down......that is a bigger gamble-assuming you'll get Grigorenko's skillset lower in the draft.

No they aren't. The Oilers can take a risk because they have Hopkins, Eberle and Hall to fall back on. If the Oilers screw up, they will still be fine.

The Leafs have Kadri and Colborne to fall back on.

Huge difference.

The Leafs need to play it safe until they tank it again next year. Then after that draft, then, maybe, they can start rolling the dice.

- Unholy_Goalie

You should probably add Kessel to the list of Leafs as well if you're going to list Edmonton's best players.

I didn't say the Leafs should trade down to 30th did I?

They could probably trade down to 7th and still get Faksa. Obviously, they would have to talk to the teams around them to make sure they could get him at 7th.

Wow...

So what you're saying in between all the Grigorenko bashing, and the leafs wasting draft picks... Is that it would aaaaaall be validated, if the player was 22, and ha previously showed a smidgen of talent?

Legendaaaaary.

So one more time... Grigorenko is a problem, why?

If Faksa is the player you want, you pick him at 5th.

If the Leafs could get Grigorenko for a 3rd round pick, they should do it. But with 5th overall, they can't take the risk of getting a player who plays when he wants to and who has the option to take off to the KHL whenever he wants.

Th KHL is garbage........with crap facilities, Airplanes that crash, and bologne players who cant cut it in the NHL.

Elite players want to play in the most Elite League available. Sure They pay alot, but Quality of life is quite different than in N.A. You can't draft top -5 players being scared that they are going to flee to a far less superior league.

Toronto is the Center of the Hockey Friggin universe....Nashville is not

That's where this whole GM communication scratch each other's back respect thing amongst each other comes in....your theory only works if Anaheim and Carolina etc don't want Faska....I could see a deal with Anaheim like Shultz's rights and 6th for Leaf's 5th....meanwhile Leafs wanted Faska all along if Gally and Greg were gone, and Anaheim wanted Forsberg...both teams get what they wanted, and Burke does Anaheim a perceived favour on the Shultz thing...
