Yup. I never understand how the same hasbeen hacks always find their way into coach interviews as serious candidates...same with guys like Mactavish, McGuire, Crawford, the list goes on - S Kaspar Rollins
He's coached in 2 places...coached the Av's to 5 straight NW titles and actually made something out of NOTHING in Atlanta. I would hardly call him a has been. You were probably wondering what St Louis was thinking when they hired that hasbeen hack Hitchcock earlier this year weren't you? |

Both in assuming that I thought that and assuming Hartley has as strong a resume as Hitchcock did |

Apart from Hartley having less experience they are very similar....not to mention the huge blemish on Hitch's resume which is Columbus. |

We could go back and forth about how UNREAL Ken Hitchcock is, but calling Hartley a old hack hasbeen coach isn't fair at all, and neither is comparing him to Keenan (Laughable). He's won a Calder Cup, Stanley Cup and a Championship in the Swiss league this year. Also, his NHL record speaks for itself. Just my opinion anyway. |

i can agree with most of that. i just don't think that hartley and hitch are on the same level coaching wise. |

Fair enough, tough to compare considering Hitch has more experience in the NHL. Hartley results in Calgary will go a long to either bring them more on the same level or push them further apart. As far as i'm concerned Hartley has had 2 successful coaching gigs. So I like the hire, also, he has had past success with Feaster. Best choice out there IMO |

Wouldn't be surprised to see Lemaire get a look, and hire a young up-and-coming coach to be his assistant, i.e. to learn from a great mind and eventually take over the team when Lemaire leaves. |

i highly doubt lamaire comes back, he retired and only came back to finish 1/2 a season due to his very close friendship and loyalty with lou and said he is done for good with coaching |

But... What about this?
"Updated...(you can move this from an e3 to an e4....)
This has blown up in the last few hours...I wouldn't call it an(e5) rumor yet (meaning it is not 100% finished) , but according to three scouts I know very well, along with a source with the Canadiens and another source with the NHL in NJ, it appears as though Hartley will join the GREAT front office that has been assembled over the last month or so in Montreal."
Ek, time to get some new "sources"? |
