It's a shame for the team not getting any return and the three headed goalie monster is a nightmare. Well it's Wang's fault for giving the contract out. DP has to think of his long term future. All these injuries will take a toll down the line. Cannot forget the concussons either.
- ses111

They shouldn't let it become a monster. Just send RDP down to b-port on a "conditioning stint" so his number counts towards the floor and he will undoubtedly get hurt during that stint, allowing the Isles to only carry two goaltenders (Nabokov, Poulin?) all year.

Very smart plan which is why it will never happen. DP is Wang's boy.

As much as I hate him, Botta did mention the other day that, although they won't officially announce/declare it, this is the first year that DP will not automatically be handed the default #1 starter job. He went on to say that Poulin/Nilsson will battle for the 2nd spot, but they will keep 3. I don't care if DP is sitting in the press box every night and still on the roster. Hell, I don't even care if they mix him in as the backup for a handful of games. As long as he's not starting, I don't care what the situation is.

Put this years first in a package for an established D man. Can Snow pull it off? Also great news that DP is healthy again he is always fun to watch.

The 5 games a year DP plays are magical. If Snow cannot pull it off no one can.

Methinks eichiefs9 was making a point about a GREAT hockey player, not our overpaid at any price, yearly season-ruining, cameo appearing participant of utter disaster....now that's REALLY worth crying about

The guy cannot even get up from a save. How the Isles cannot get out of the contract is beyond me. A goalie who cannot get up after a save is not healthy enough to play.
- ses111

He can't move....and for a goalie whose entire game plan was predicated on not standing still.....he's done....

Once we have enough of the young guys to pay that we don't need him to reach the cap floor, then he needs to go to Bridgeport, permanently. Maybe then he will get the message...

You got to have faith. He still has it. Wang can see it, Snow can see it and DP can see it. Now us fans need to trust them. When have they let us down before?

See what? He's terrible. His lateral movement is shot to sh!t, it takes him forever to move post-to-post. He regularly makes terrible decisions (see: every time he plays the puck/Brent Johnson). He positionally brain-dead, although in the interest of fairness he was never a positionally sound goaltender.

I couldn't find a single good thing to say about him, except maybe he tries really hard to come back. Maybe he should have laid off the juice.

Nic was probably the best D Man to ever play, if you factor in the number of years / and quality years played...He is a winner and we are all better to have watched him play the game..

I'm sorry no way the Isles should be stuck with this guy for 9 years when he cannot stay healthy. He should not be medically cleared to play and should be forced to quit and insurance kick in.
