I can and I can imagine no one who can handle the puck and distribute, which is a pretty important part of the Power Play.

Hossa and especially Toews.

The other thing is, the Hawks OVER-PASSED on the PP all year. They need more finish.

AND, Nash is not bad at getting a PP set up actually, very good at jumping passing lanes and creating TO's.

Nash is a beast. He's big, fast, tough, got a bit of a mean streak in him and has great hands. Anyone who would rather have Kane over him does not watch hockey on a regular basis. I'm sorry but Nash has been a sleeping giant in columbus. If he were to be traded here, I really think the sky is the limit.

I would be OK with one or the other. Depends on the style they want to play and "master plan" as it were. Not knowing what type of system the Hawks want to play makes it difficult to make assumptions.

Assuming Q wants to play something similar to what St Louis had when he and Kitch had success or how the Colorado team he was an assistant on was set up I would guess he would rather have centers than wingers. Getzlaf or Statsny while retaining Bolland would make more sense if that was the case.

I've said before that players can win the Cup too early. I know how it sounds, but it can turn 3 Cups into 1 and done pretty easily. Just look at Getzlaf and Perry as prime examples.

if the hawks are one and done its because rocky hired an incompitent gm in stan

rocky should have hired a gm with a track record or better yet kept tallon

this team under stans management is climbing down the latter of success. trading kane will be the next rungdown to mediocrity

You can't be serious?? There was absolutely nothing political about that statement. The WHOLE WORLD knows Fox News is an unethical, biased news agency. Canada doesn't want them, England found out the hard way how dirty they really are with the phone hacking scandal, and can you imagine what they are getting away with here in the U.S? No one should ever trust anything that comes from them. Thats pure fact!

Exactly the Hawks need more scorers on the PP. Kane is the greatest set up man in the universe but that didnt help on the power play. Nash would improve the powerplay immensely

so if kane gets traded, there is nobody else on the team who can complete a pass?

the more I think about it, even tho I'm dead set against nash's contract, kane+ for nash and methot could help the hawks a ton.
the FA dman market is gonna be stupid expensive and getting a big man like methot would herlp the D....methot > hammer

As long as you don't let Keith shoot from the point.
- furso27

I was assuming Keith would shoot, miss the net but the puck would rebound out front (off the boards) where nash would be parked.

You are assuming a lot in trusting Keith to get it past the opposing forward's ankles.

I sometimes think the Hawks coaches are still watching tape from 2010. They can't seem to figure out that teams are playing PK differently against them the last two years.

To put Kane's 'magical' passing in perspective... he averages maybe 45 assists per season...... The Sedin sisters range between 45 on the low low low end and 83 assists on the high end. The reality is Kane makes pretty looking passes but he does not make enough of them that turn into goals.

Maybe one day he reaches that plateau....... But I can tell you the guys that have been there like Giroux, the Sedin's, and Crosby eat sleep $hit hockey 24/7. Kane seems to prefer the life piece of work/life balance a little too much. Jmo.

Well these coaches/players were competent enough to have the power play rolling the year after the Cup,I believe they finished 4th that year in PP% or somewhere close to 4th..I honestly think they are just overdoing it...think less, react, and simplify it,and Inthink it will be fine

How many passes were on the tape of a player who didnt finish...a lot of them. Brunette couldnt score in a whore house, Hossa had issues at times finding the twine, honestly the PP needs a quarterback that can manage the PP correctly. Nash cant do that. There were numerous issues on this team this year, the only reason we are talking about moving Kane is bc of the Wisconsin episode. Stop nit picking his game (not just you but all the Kane haters) when it was the most well rounded it has been and he did it while switching positions all year. The Sedin's dont have a ring, Giroux is about as complete of a Hockey player that you are going to find and Crosby and Tazer are the two best Captain's in the NHL. He's 23 not 27, just relax.

Hawks were around 26th in PP and PK at the end of the regular season. I don't think it can get much worse. Totally agree on the over thinking. How many times last year did you scream at the TV and say 'shoot the puck!'?

I know I did A LOT.

Henriks first 4 years in the league were rather uninspiring

Daniels were not much better...

And Kane wrecks them in total points first 5 years of his career vs theirs + he won a Cup. Terrible comparison.

I think your scope is too narrow. Brunette wasn't a hawk in 2010 when Kane put up 46 assists. He had 43 last season, that's less than Hossa. I'm not talking about just one season....

Also the point of using Giroux, etc as examples was to compare work ethic and commitment to the game.... Not overall ability. The ring comparison is funny though. Ben Eager has a ring..... Is he better than the Sedin's as well? Lol.

They need more MOVEMENT: pass the puck and MOVE - don't wait for a return pass in the exact same place that you couldnt get an open shot in when you had the puck.

The PP was stagnant.

Sedin's are the marquee players of a very good team, they dont get it done come playoff time, they are regular season players.

Kane Playoff numbers- 51 games 20g 32a 52pts

Sedin 1- 95games 22g 49a 71pts

Sedin 2- 92games 23g 41a 64pts

There you go, take your B.S. somewhere else.
