I don't mind what they do as long as it is within the limits of the Law and doesn't affect the team or their play. However I think there is sufficient evidence in the case of Richards and Carter to infer that the team felt it was effecting them and with NTC's about to kick in for both guys, they bailed rather that to go blindly forward. For that I commend the organization because at the end of the day, it shows their commitment is toward providing the fanbase with a championship caliber product and not to player/team relationships.

They tried to institute Dry Island for the entire team correct? Or was it just Richards and Carter? We've seen pictures of Giroux and Briere partying, and with the some of the same people Richards and Carter were seen with. I love this from all accounts stuff. What you've seen is isolated incidents of a normal social life for a couple of young guys. You've sure offered a lot of solid evidence here. It was and continues to be complete nonsense. And with that, I'm done with this. It's history and time to move on. I'm not going to change my mind and I don't think you are either.

Im not trying to change your mind.. id have an easier time teaching a dog to recite Robert Frost...

My point is you telling everybody how much "non-sense" it is, is comical. You may find it weak.. but I dont. It is super telling that the two guys who were signed to "life-time" contracts were moved. You say guys can have down years, well I guess the org didnt see it that way. If it was just them having "a down year" you would think they would understand.

You dont think the Dry Island had ANYTHING to do with those two? I couldnt disagree anymore. The fact that it was made known that Lava was disappointed that the two wouldnt participate also means something to me.

I was told by the sibling of an NHL player who is really good friends with JvR... that the players were kicked out of the box that was given to them by Jeffrey Lurie at the Kenny Chesney concert.

She told me that the front office didnt plan on making big changes, that Homer had said everyone have a quiet relaxing summer, and come to camp ready to start over on a clean slate. On June 16th, the Kenny Chesney incident happened. Supposedly the two and a few friends tailgated and got pretty wasted, went into the box and started acting like bumholes. When they were told to leave they refused and ultimately the eagles brass had to call the flyers brass to come get them out of there.

A week later both guys are traded. Hmmmm

I didn't want to believe all this stuff either. It's like having your kid come home with a note from the teacher telling you how horrible the kid is but you just don't want to believe it. So you ignore the notes until one day the kid is kicked out of school and you have a conference with the principal with video footage, staff reports etc, and have no choice but to be left to face the truth and the truth is these two were deemed by the organization, not worth the risk.

Maybe they did straighten out and are good soldiers, for that I commend them, but on the flip-side I'm not going to root for them to hoist something they failed to bring home here and maybe just maybe had they laid off the sauce here we could have enjoyed that with them here this year or in previous years. So yes as a fan I feel a little betrayed after all they were the Kings of the city for a good while here all they had to do was walk the line and I'm sorry it really seems like they didn't while they were here.

Parise's agent (and probably the players union, too) would not be happy with him even thinking about taking a discount big enough to help the Devils financial situation.

NHLPA would die. They hate that stuff. I still would hate to see the Devils leave though. Flyers-Devils is a great rivalry.

Teams should be located in markets that can support them - without taxpayer funds. For whatever reason NJ does not support the Devils, regardless of their success.
- Scoob

The devils were planted right between 3 well established teams, Flyers, Rangers and Islanders...and just tried to suck off the teet

This is what happens when you have rich young immature kids who are single (happens with the everyday people as well). I dont expect them to sit in and watch movies every single night. However, I have no problem with the partying as long as its not abused. When you start making an ass out of yourself its time to call it a night before the situation gets out of hand.

Both Richards and Carter both had more points in 2010-11 than they did in 2009-10. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Hahaha I saw that too. I believe it was in reply to a question from our very own Jsaquella.

Lappy is an awesome guy. He allowed me to interview him for a project I am doing for my Sociology class. He still follows me on Twitter too.

I thought their performance over the last two months of that season was rather laking, imo anyway.
Edit: This could have all been due to injury but this again goes back to the off ice stuff because if you are in top condition, your body is less likely to be injured and as we all may or may not know, excessive drinking can impede one's conditioning that's not even a matter of debate.

Also, he drinks beer like a girl. He moves his whole arm up to his mouth and sips it.

Since this thread was the first time I heard of the Kane 2012 issue I did a little Googling. I found that gem.

WTF?

I do agree with that but so was the whole team's. Overall they had normal years or at least nothing I would consider a down year.

The problem is that Lappy knew he could get away with the body of a 7 year old because it leaves it open to interpretation.

Some 7 yearolds look like this.

Homer isn't going to trade the whole team. A most of the main players in that whole fiasco have NTC's B the best way to kill a snake is to cut off it's head.

We will never know how the team 100% deals with this kind of stuff behind close doors. Apparently they did the same thing last year and Kane didn't listen.

I actually only have one, its my Mike Richards, was gonna make a whole youtube thing of putting it in the good will box but I can't bring myself too

I'll probably just keep it for sentimental purposes. One thing I know about the Flyers is they have a weird way of bringing back old players and Richards has plenty of time left in his career to be a Flyer again one day. Yea I know sounds crazy after all the stuff I was preaching but hey Tocchet came back for a good playoff run after his Prodigal son saga....
