Thanks for the updates

What do you think the chances are of Henrik Samuelsson being around when the Canucks pick 26th overall?

Thanks!

Doesnt Galchenyuk also have injury issues?
- robin_steele264

Galchenyuk missed the entire season pretty much. but yakupovs injury near the end of the season ( from which he returned fairly quickly) is a much bigger issue....

A freak knee accident vs. a 5'10 Russian going Kamikaze every shift and getting his head rattled. (2nd concussion in two years)

There are legitimate concerns about Yakupov's style of play, especially when he's not 6'4 and 230 lbs.

I expect he will be around there, but with his Mem Cup all it needs is a head scout who fell in love.

If he plays for the Oilers, he'll get injured. Their last 2 1st overall were injuried in their 1st season. Watch it happen again.

That's the thing about it all-- Yakupov is a lot like Hall in their "reckless abandon" way of playing. Atleast Hall is bigger and stronger. Yakupov is a smaller player.

When I watched him get drilled by Halmo because he cut across the middle all I could think was: "Who is stupid enough to do that?"

As far as HB posters, No one put landeskog ahead of rnh. Some may have commented on his advantages and why the oilers could pick him, but rnh was ahead of him on pretty much every oiler fans lists.

Larsson on the other hand was a bit more of a debate. There were a few, including myself, that wanted him. Most oiler fans were on the rnh train though.

Yakupov is the clear cut #1 this year too

- hugefemale dog77

With Colorado picking 2nd and the Oilers taking Hall in the previous year, I was willing to put $1000 that Landeskog was going 2nd overall, regardless if Oilers picked RNH or Larsson. Just saying in the situation Oilers took Larsson, I believe Lnadeskog would have gone before RNH.

Imagine if Scott Stevens were still in the NHL.

Awesome, thanks.

I feel he is the exact addition of size and grit that the Canucks have been lacking for years. Any idea how his advanced stats look as it seems to unfortunately play a big role in Canucks acquisitions.

Yeah eh.

I wonder how much interest WSH has in him? 11th + 17th overall (I think?) +, could do wonders for the Oil, honestly I would be more excited if they came out of the draft with say Reinhart + Gaunce or Wilson.

Yakupov on the same team as OV could take his career to another level. I know Yakupov has the "broke Stamkos' Sarnia records" but do people see him being as dominant in the NHL as Stamkos?

Likely more... if he has the right supporting cast passing him the puck... Think how sweet it will be having RNH setting up the office on a PP...

This is true. I keep forgetting Stamkos would not be Stamkos with out St. Louis.

I did a looksie last week. 3 of 5 games without St.Louis, Stamkos had 7 points.

Hey B ... Play Brian Burke for a minute and tell us what the Leafs will do going into the draft ... Including player and pick trades and players drafted !

I'd love to hear what you'd do as leaf GM !

- .HOHO.

I heard from a source at the combine that talked to one of the Leaf scouts and said they really like Dumba and Rielly. Kind of surprising considering they're both defensemen.

No poop... defense is not an issue with leaf land- unless you are going to be trading one or 2 for that center you need??? Buh bye Schenn, maybe even Phaneuf??? I am just teasing- we all know Schenn aint going anywhere....

I don't think it's fair to say that St.Louis makes Stamkos either. If he was that good why hasn't he made anyone else a 60 goal man?

Yes St.Louis is good, but Stamkos more than likely is still a top goal scorer regardless.

To be honest where the Leafs are picking they might really have no choice but to take a d-man.

Schenn is much more likely than Phaneuf, and I'm a Schenn fan.

No one on the Leafs is able to log 25 min a night and play in all situations, and do a reliable job at it.

even the goalies can't put together a solid 25 minutes a game...
