Working on it, can't agree on royalties, writing and production rights. - LeafMan
Hmm, well there are a few decent writers on here, I think we all know the royalties go to the NHL and the production will be HBO, we are a racy and disgusting bunch. We want it to have that mix of sexy and classy with a hint of intelligence. |

Thanks. - Pen15

So you are ok with them giving a shot to a guy who has the same (albeit at first glance) talent level as me? - markmark
If you honestly think you have the same talent level as Komarov, then you're one cocky kid.
This guy would skate circles around you, and you wouldnt last 2 shifts in the KHL.
There's a reason why he just signed a contract with the Leafs and you're sitting on your ass criticizing those who actually have skill to be a hockey player in the NHL/KHL.
You're assuming you're just as good as him. Which is hilarious. Pretty easy saying stuff like that while sitting on your ass |

Not a fan eh? I promise you get more than a bag of pucks for a 6'5 d man with a cannon (a quick one too). Franson got my vote for most improved player under Carlyle's tenure. Through more hits in that stint than he had all year. - Boosinicka
Yeah, it will be interesting to see who gets more love (and who gets less love) under Carlyle than under Wilson.
25 healthy scratches last year, though. And 1 goal and 0 assists under Carlyle.
Leafs have too many d - somebody has to go.
My vote goes to Franson.
Or Schenn. |

Schenn got 3.5.....Franson is better...no way he signs for under 2 million. - Fakepartofme
Ummmmmm.....
No.
Schenn signed his contract after showing great promise.
Franson was a healthy scratch 25 times last year, and was 6th in ice time.
No way in hell Burke offers him $2 million. |

Slow your roll brother. Clearly Im not the same talent level, or I would be playing in the KHL doing what Komarov is doing. My point is that as a fan, I demand a good product. When I see a guy overseas that shows very very little, WHY ARE WE WASTING OUR TIME. Scoop up some wienerhead from the marlies.
His reel from his "succesful" season was a couple of wristshots and dirty hits. Ive got 4" and 30lbs on him so I assume I could throw some dirty hits and talk poop at the KHL level. That would be my only talent match to him haha. |

i hear ya, we must move a D man.
thing is...i think if we move schenn, we shred salary AND we would get more in return than we would for Franson...each player is a ? at this point with schenn struggling as he has been.
realistically, id like to keep both of them and move komisarek
franson, schenn, phaneuf, gardiner, gunnersson, liles (top 6).
both blacker, and holzer are not too far from being ready either. (schultZ?) |

My guess is his contract offer will ultimately come from another team.
Except on Augello's thread, his value is very low. Might just be easier to trade him away for a bag of chips, and free up a spot on both the blueline and the 50 contract thingy. - Atomic Wedgie
No it won't. Burke acquired him for a reason and that reason was taking on Lombardi's horrible contract. Lombardi should be gone before Franson is. |

I've seen some big kids get the poop knocked out of them in hockey by kids half their size.
Size means nothing. Ask TJ Oshie who destroyed Dustin Penner. And destroyed Rick Nash, twice.
And as for "Wasting our time", who cares? There's literally no downside to signing someone you drafted..
You're getting your panties in a knot over nothing.

You're right, we shouldn't demand excellence from our team. The team is a product, I pay for that product, I expect it to to be the best. I'm sorry I dont just settle for whats there.
Also read what I write in whole sentences, it will make more sense. |

Lombardi should be gone before I get another cup of coffee - what's your point?
You (and others) have this warped view that Burke never admits mistakes.
See Orr, Colton.
Gardiner makes Franson expendable. In fact, he makes it imperative that we move Franson. |

You pay for this product? If you don't like what you see, don't pay? Simple as that.
Demand excellence then. Just don't cry when a guy we drafted signs a contract.
Sorry Burke can't roll 4 lines of superstars.
Can;t believe it. Someone who is crying over the fact Burke signed somebody from the KHL |

Add Shultz and Holzer in to the equation, and possibly 2 D have to moved........doesn't Franson just have to be RFA qualified for 1 year? |

Yes - something like a 10% raise offer lets you keep his rights.
I suspect that is what we will see - Burke will qualify him, and then worry about it later. |

Gardiner made Liles expendable, not Franson. If Burke wants to admit a mistake, he should have traded Liles instead of giving him an extension while he had a concussion.
Also, the Leafs don't have too many defenders. They have six under contract and one RFA. Considering Komisarek absolutely sucks and that at least one player gets injured every year, that's a good number to have. |
