Here's a question for all:

What kind of offer do you think Burke should extend to Franson?

I haven't settled on numbers yet, but I'm pretty sure mine are going to be lower than yours.

He's a 4th line guy.

Were you expecting tons of talent or something?

- jbold

No, he isn't.

He's a guy who's played in Europe his entire life, and hasn't really shown much talent.

Except for last year, where he had modest success scoring, while playing with more talented linemates.

Sorry, I don't see how that translates to a 4th line guy in the NHL next year.

If we are excited about him because he scored some goals last year, why are we putting him on the 4th line?

Not to mention that playing the 4th line in North America is completely different than playing the 4th line on a 100 foot wide rink.

He's not a 4th liner. He's a giant question mark, who needs to come to the Marlies, and then we will figure out what role (if any) he can play.

I haven't been in Canada enough to see those "things." I can only imagine however. When are we going to get the contract for "The Hard Live's of Hockeybuzzer's?"

I meant, 4th line guy tops lol

His potential is a 4th line player.

I doubt he'll be on the Leafs next season.

I'm sure he wouldn't of been signed if the management team didn't think he could make the roster in a fourth line role. They probably scouted him extensively before signing him.

My guess is his contract offer will ultimately come from another team.

Except on Augello's thread, his value is very low. Might just be easier to trade him away for a bag of chips, and free up a spot on both the blueline and the 50 contract thingy.

Hey UG.

I was wondering if you could tell me who on the current leafs roster can play Nashville, NJ, or Pheonix hockey?

Thanks.

Not a fan eh? I promise you get more than a bag of pucks for a 6'5 d man with a cannon (a quick one too). Franson got my vote for most improved player under Carlyle's tenure. Threw more hits in that stint than he had all year.

So you are ok with them giving a shot to a guy who has the same (albeit at first glance) talent level as me?
