It's guys like Kessel and Lupul that concern me more than Grabo under this system. If there is any friction between Lupul and Carlyle, it'll surface soon enough. I get that they both say it's resolved, but I don't buy into that for a second. Maybe it was just media built, but there is obviously something there still...

And as for Kessel, it just seems he's dead in the water with this kind of system.

Maybe the fix will be putting a solid two way centre between them to hold them accountable?

we will probably lose in the finals... Its not looking great for us at this point... Whos gonna score? Kadri Frattin Zigomanis supply most of the offense. If Kadri and Zigo come back soon and we can get it going along with Scrivens shuttin it down we could still take it. Either way we dont need to win it all to add confidence to our young players, they went to the finals and its definatly a confidence booster and a showing that our prospects in the A are better then any other teams, because most of our key contributors are young guys getting ready to make the jump, where as Norfolk not as much.

Well, it'll happen this year but it'll be the first time. The odds are heavily against you as the lower seed. Always have been and probably always will be. Cinderella stories are nice but they rarely win Cups.

Now, with a coaching change and the addition of Carter (although with the exception of one game he hasn't done what's expected) they start scoring a bit more...they're still letting in the same amount of goals (as they were in the regular season) for the most part, they've just woken up with scoring.

To me this isn't your typical 8th team, this is a VERY good team that took longer in the regular season to click and started playing to expectations coming into the playoffs.

Not to discredit what they may do, but they were supposed to be a top 5 in the league as it was.

Exactly. Been saying this since the playoffs started. The Kings mimic how the Bruins played last year and you could really see it against the Canucks. Strong, defensive but opportunistic with great goaltending. I hope they win.

I know it's inevitable for Leafs fans to start saying "all you have to do is make 8th place, look at the Kings". Fact is, Richards, Carter, Doughty, Kopitar and Quick. That's not your typical 8th placed team and definitely far away from what the Leafs have.

I'll believe both when I see it. If the guy talking about tampering had anything backing up that story, the major hockey media would have been for sure been running with a Leafs tampering story, even just a rumour. But they haven't, so I'll bet there's no there there.

I don't watch the market closely enough to gather an informed view here, but I find it hard to believe any team would take a 60pt 2C at that hit as we speak, let alone if his production drops.

Just seemed like a lot of money unless his numbers increase.

There are tons of 60pts centers right now making 4.5-5.5 mil. Factor in that a lot of those guys were signed 2-3 years ago when the cap was lower and the lack of talent in the UFA pool this year and it's pretty obvious why he was signed.

I think that the Schultz rumors are awesome!!! I hope they are true. As for the tampering allegations...... all I can do is laugh. I hope it happens, that'll be good for a laugh. I am not worried in the least about the tampering.
