Hey UG.
I was wondering if you could tell me who on the current Leafs roster can play Nashville, NJ, or Pheonix hockey?
Thanks. - Pen15
He has no answer.
We all know he won't reply.
Ask him about all his alt accounts.
He will deflect that too!! |

But I want an answer...he needs to justify who he thinks on the current Leafs roster can play Nashville, NJ, or Pheonix type hockey. According to him, Burke is the only reason we haven't. |

I love Grabo, but will never see him stepping into our 1C role, that is obvious. But at his cap hit now, should he be making that kind of money without a legit 1C on this team?
This signing still puzzles me. |

I always believed it was a risky move.
If he starts playing like poop, his contract will be hell to offload. |

I know you want an answer, but it'll never happen. We all know UG will avoid the question, as he knows he is wrong.
He is so quick to jump on other posters until he gets caught making a mistake. Just like him admitting he has alt accounts.
Just take solace in knowing his silence proves he is embarrased. |

I don't watch the market closely enough to gather an informed view here, but I find it hard to believe any team would take a 60pt 2C at that hit as we speak, let alone if his production drops.
Just seemed like a lot of money unless his numbers increase. |

Meh, I don't find it risky, I'd just stick to saying it was a bit of an overpayment. He's a bit streaky, but still one if the more dependable players on the team. |

I'm surprised at the silence though. He normally argues his point until the other person has to get off. |

I think Nail would command a lot more than that in Edmontons eyes.
And it still doesn't address our goalie issue, or how poopty our 4th line is. |

I think the contract was market value imo....especially given the low supply of solid 2C's that play his brand of hockey. If you look around the league, most 60pt men are getting paid that much. The 'risk' I was really referring to was whether his 60pt season was an anomaly, or whether it'll be something he can sustain (or build on).
I think he can also up his production if he gets a little more PP time next year...but that'll depend on the make up of the team come Oct.
Ultimately though...I was never comfortable with the signing. If I were Burke, I would've traded him and opened up another spot on the team for next year. |

I think under carlyles system Grabo will flourish. He is defensively sound. But I am with you on the idea of if there were other options, Burke should have really looked into it. Then again, dumping quality players when it is contract renewal time will never give you any solid leadership to count on, and make players never want to sign with this club. |

Leafman.
Made a comment about how he was going to start banning people who persisted with the same arguments with the same people at night.
This is why I believe UG is doing this. So he can tell Leafman he is being harassed by you.
Because answering the question would be way too easy. |

This is true. Unfortunately we'll never know what could've been had. I also agree that he'll flourish under Carlyle - he plays his type of hockey.
All said, if Grabs can continue to produce like he did last year (and maybe even progress with some more power play time), I'll be more than happy with the signing. I'm just not going to hold my breath. |

Thanks pal! Had no idea. I'll ease off the little bugger going forward. Would hate to be banned for a 13th time. |

It's guys like Kessel and Lupul that concern me more than Grabo under this system. If there is any friction between Lupul and Carlyle, it'll surface soon enough. I get that they both say it's resolved, but I don't buy into that for a second. Maybe it was just media built, but there is obviously something there still...
And as for Kessel, it just seems he's dead in the water with this kind of system. |
