I hate Linesmen/refs
- Leafland

i hate nhl linesmen and refs, and i hate lazy refs
sadly some of the best refs are in OMHA or junior and never even get sniffing distance of what they deserve

12th in save percentage, 16th in GAA on the President Trophy winning team.

Horrid playoff stats and being traded because he can't handle the pressure.

With a 10 year contract.

But yeah, Luongo is TOTALLY better.

- Unholy_Goalie

Well he did take Van to a game 7 last year.

How about Kipper?

Lu has been in the playoffs for how many years straight now.

How about Kipper?

Nuff said.

It's a bad trade for both teams .... The leafs would lose youth , witch they should be keeping ..... And the flames would be trading one of there susperstars for less then they would get elsewhere
- The_Vark

For sure. The Leafs need to continue rebuilding and can't afford to keep paying for shortcuts with their future.

But purely from a hockey trade standpoint, getting Kiprusoff, for Reimer, Schenn and Colborne plus dumping Lombardi and MacArthur, would be one-sided for the Leafs. The Flames get very little from that in comparison to what they would be giving up.

Last 2 playoff seasons.

Kipper-
.908sv%
.884sv%

Luongo-

.914sv%
.891sv%

Guess Kipper is a choker in the playoffs, too.

Little Nicky, stop. It's too easy to win an argument against you.

I'm sure you'll ignore these facts like you always do, Little Nicky.

I'd rather take Kipper. What the hell do I know though. I'm the only guy here who actually knows anything.

it does have something to do wit the team in front of him. Kipper is one hell of goalie..

Lets say they both have the same talent.

Lets talk contract now.

Kiprusoff carried the Flames to the Cup finals from the 8th seed.

Save percentage was .928 and his GAA was 1.85.

Luongo has had the luxury of playing for a President Trophy team while Kiprusoff has had to carry his team for the better part of 8 years.

No big deal though.

So let me understand this...

by trading away a 35 year old goalie who may have 3 seasons left, the flames lose this trade?

Getting a young goalie, a young Dman, and a young center who will all be NHLers for a retiring goalie is a bad trade??

Wow, glad you are not a GM.

Did Kiprusoff have the luxury of playing for the President Trophy winners or was he stuck on crappy Flames team?

Keep failing.

Kipper is amazing because he won the Vezina 6 years ago.

Young goalie of low quality. Comparing Reimer to Kiprusoff is a joke. It's not even close.

Young center who has done what? He didn't even have a strong year in the AHL much less be able to contribute to the Flames.

The only solid piece they would get is a top four shutdown defender in Luke Schenn.

Still not worth it considering Kiprusoff plays 70 games a year for the Flames and steals them games on a regular basis.

You're bang on UG

No big deal.

I love how you make excuses. Fact of the matter is this. LA was an 8 seed.

A goalie makes the difference on his team. The fact that Kipper couldnt propel his team shows his age. 5 years ago I'd take Kipper of Lu, when Kipper still had that superstar ability.

Now, I'd take Lu purely based of how much talent is left in the tank.

Better stats on a worse team and doesn't have a 10 year contract.

No big deal. You can waive your white flag for the rest of the day on this one.

Except that he's still playing like a top 10 goalie despite playing for a bad team.

BUT IGNORE THE FACTS! IT'S NOT LIKE THEY MATTER OR ANYTHING!

But he won the Vezina 6 years ago.

Clearly means he's still a Vezina caliber goaltender.
