Still not ready to give up on a 6'3 200 lbs talented winger with golden hands, a good vision and a good shot. He needs work ethic and to learn how to play defensively. Things you can teach to a player.

I don't think anyones saying he's dead in the water, but he's been a big letdown since he got to North America. He could always turn it around, it just seems unlikely at this point.

I feel like teach might be the wrong word, I'd say you can drive it into people. Although it'll probably never quite be the same as someone having it on their own accord.

They might even make it all the way to the Calder Cup finals just proving that there is only superstars in the waiting playing there, or at least that is what i learned in the leaf threads, so i guess it has to be so....

Depends a lot of the player, but it's certainly not that easy of a task.

Avtsin and Zherdev are two really different cases.

Avtsin wants to succeed, but he had trouble adjusting the to new environment, style of play, ice size,new language etc...

I had hopes for him, and he didn't really meet them so far.
