And potential is largely based on speculation.

It's a projection in time yes. But scouts get paid and risk their jobs on those projections.

The Habs should trade the #3 pick, + for P. Kane.

Yes, players who party too much are such a good fit in Montreal.

Now you have no chance at being a scout in that league.

I see your point. I think Montreal gets their Franchise player at #3 anyway, so they should keep their 2 2nd rounders and probably do the same next year, and stockpile some high-end assets. Eventually, the dead weight on the team will be gone, and it will be nice to have players to replace them with, instead of signing more dead weight.

if the Habs trade that 33rd overall pick it will be to move up for another late 1st rounder. package the 33rd with nashville's pick (2nd rounder) and grab a guy around #20th-24th

Yes, I agree. But saying that one player's ceiling is higher than another's is still based on those scouts' speculation, so it isn't a fact...yet.

That's fine, but you don't give up #33 to move two spots from #3 to #1. That makes no sense.

Yes it's purely subjective on 'my part'. But a lot of professional scouts tend to agree with me, just go check in Huddle's comments.

So yes you can question my judgement, but again I'm not the only person who thinks like that.

Everyone has their own opinion at least. And I think that my opinion, or the scout's should prevail on the opinion of someone who only reads reports on the web.

You know those highlight vids can be really insightful.

Huddle's not my source, he's quoting an article. Go check.

Also, I will take Huddle's opinion over anyone over here, except my butt bud Frenchie.
