How long until Emelin is ready to take that role though?

He played very well in the World's for Russia... I'd rather give him a shot at #4 first than overpay for a veteran.

Plus it's a fantastic way to get a great pick next year.

Totally agree on this one. Actually a bigger version of Hudon (i know i will hurt your feelings but still)
- Habsody

Hudon isn't scared of cutting to the net, and he's usually one of the hardest worker on the ice. Kid has to improve his skating, but is one of the best goal scorer in this crop.

Kubina and Sarich? I wouldn't mind Kubina for 3 years, would give time for Tinordi, Beaulieu, Ellis to mature in Hamilton.

Oh boy. Yeah lets bring left overs from all over the league, good idea!

No one. He hasn't done anything but bringing his friends here. What must we be impressed of? His mad communication skillzzz?
- _nay_

We will have to wait how he will deal with PK and Price. And also who he will target on july 1st. He might surprise everyone at the draft as well...

Kubina and Sarich are left overs? Sure they aren't french but c'mon. Who would you pick to play with Markov for the next 2-3 years?

I'd rather stick with what we have (and live with that) than sign any of these older vets to 2-3 year deals.

Weber and Diaz are cheap, adequate as 5-6-7 d-men and won't block the pipeline for the kids coming up when ready.

I actually kinda like what I saw of Diaz... made me have a little more hope for the Mexican players.

Emelin is developing nicely. But Emelin, Markov and Gorges are all lefties, as is Kaberle which I am not confident we can shed in the summer. PK, Diaz and Weber are all RHD, and I only see keeping 1 of Diaz or Weber. Personally, I don't like forcing D to their wrong side.

You've gotta be kidding. Hudon did nothing of that against the Cats (in the playoffs) in the 3 games i saw. The only accurate fact is that he sure is a goal scorer.

Gorges - Subban
Allen/Stuart/Jackman - Diaz

We had one of the softest D squad in the league. We need to bring a right handed with some grit. You just can't let Price be pushed around night in, night out and neither of Diaz or Weber can do that job.
