I should clarify...unless it's a top-4 of Drury, Gomez, Naslund and Zherdev

In his proposal they also get a 33rd pic for their first.

So 1st overall for 3rd and 33rd overall

Their ceiling is higher, and they both can play Defensively already. While Yakupov is a scoring machine and is ready physically, he's not responsible defensively. And the other two are centers. So that's added value.

You know what I mean by ceiling right?

Means they have a bigger potential, it doesn't necessarily means they will reach it though. You have to take into account the Grigo is 6'3 and Galchenyuk is 6'1, while Yakupov is 5'10, once they are both matured out, it will be a huge difference.

You can't play your first and second lines 60 minutes a game.

You need money for other players.

Hey, I'd rather trade a 2nd rounder for a better pick than for an old fart who will play 20 games in Montreal.

- mr.peanut

No, really. They're both taller than Yakupov. A higher ceiling is required.

No way, it's crap...just like every lime beer out there.

Beer doesn't need to be changed, stop adding stuff to beer. Anything in a bottle or can other then regular beer, stout, lager, pilsner is plain and simple a woman's drink or the drink of fist pumpers.

I'd like to just use the draft pick and select some players who might pan out.

I agree with you, but they have 2 2nd rounders this year and 3 next year. I don't think that trading one of those 2nds for the chance to acquire a potential franchise player isn't really like trading for Dominic Moore.

It's harder to tell how players from the QMJHL will translate, because it's generally a more wide open league, and lacks the edge the the Dub and O have. In general. Not always.

You have to be really smart to scout that league.

I see your point. I think Montreal gets their Franchise player at #3 anyway, so they should keep their 2 2nd rounders and probably do the same next year, and stockpile some high-end assets. Eventually, the dead weight on the team will be gone, and it will be nice to have players to replace them with, instead of signing more dead weight.
