Really not necessary..

All i said was, he will not be a game changer, nothing else..he scored 55 points in the Q on a good team that was geared for the Memporial Cup. Their team was eliminated from the playoofs, but what do I know.. I got to watch him all year..

all we are saying is your not a finished product when you leave juniors so its unfair to piss kabanov's fruit loops who had a good playoffs and won a memmorial cup. lets see how this plays out..i don't expect a 50 goal scorer from a third round pick..my question for you is if his name was casey cizikas would you be this critical??

Thats ok, you do not have to agree with me at all.

Kids that are going to be good players typically shine in the Jr. leagues. He put up gringer numbers as a talented 19 yr old in a league he shoudl have owned. Look at Coutirier, scored 95 points with Mono for 1/2 a season. 95 points the year before..
Game changer in the NHL..

What do you see him potentially being? Marginal NHL 3rd or 4th liner(which wouldn't suit his style of play from what I know) or on the next plane to the KHL after a season?

The boy can be a game changer.. He is a player, differnt type of player. But when he is assigned to the 3rd line, that boy will not pout and threaten to go to the KHL to make money and where he will be treated with respect.. 2 differnt issues and player types..

As a very highly touted almost 20 yr old, I do expect him to put up some points on a good team..I certainly do..And, most high end players have put up big numbers in Jr. You can find a couple that flopped, but on average, it is a good place to start looking at what is to come.. Then, watch the kid play a few times, and make your own judgements..My judgement is, he plays when he feels like it, ( Ala Semin ) I hate that type of player.. So, I see a winey ass kid, that ends up in the K..

This is amusing to me... We are talking about issues this kid had 3 years ago or something more recent? Everything I have heard about Kabanov since he was late to a team doctor meeting 2 years ago and they made an example of him has been good. Have you heard any different?

Maybe I am a jerk but I think if this kid was from Canada he would be treated different and given more credit. Most "winey ass kids" are not pass first players. Semin certainly is not a pass first player.

I agree. Snow has proved he isn't capable of bringing in UFA's or making an impact trade, doesn't matter what the excuse is. The bottom line is if he can't do it get someone who can. Him thinking its a good idea to have Capuano on for another year shows me he isn't thinking to soundly. Or is that Wangs fault too?

I'm not sure what the main point is...that Kabanov is not RNH or Couturier? That he can't be an NHLer? That he doesn't have the ability? Or that he doesn't have the attitude?

I don't think anyone here believes that he is RNH or Couturier. Those guys...one went first overall and the other was projected to do so right up until, for some reason, he wasn't. If everyone played the way they did in juniors, you'd never be able to peg anyone for first overall/top-five/first round. I think there are plenty of later first-round picks/second-round picks/third-round picks in the NHL that didn't put up RNH/Couturier numbers in juniors...

I'm curious to see what he does in the AHL next year. I like his vision. Hopefully he packs on some more pounds, keeps his head on straight (certainly seems to be in a better place attitude-wise now compared to a year or two ago), listens to his coaches, and pushes for a spot on the Isles in a couple of years. But who knows.

It's never a good idea to get hung up on the numbers either way. If he has his head on right and is willing to work he should be fine. No way to tell yet how he will turn out and no way to write him off yet.

All I said, is taht I did not think he will be a game changer..He may be a third liner, but not a game changer..
He has not shown that in Jr. doubt he will turm into that as an NHL'er. I have seen him play on several occasions. He seems to be the type of player , I personally do not prefer. Turn it on and off when he wants to, type player.
But we will see. And, as I said, it is just my own opinion. which I am allowed dispite what my wife and others on here may disagree with..
For the record, I hope I am wrong and he becomes the rookie of the year, but I will bet money on it..

I really hope so. Isles really need to take advantage of their cap space. With the picks, prospects, and cap space no reason for Snow to not be able to add some talent. I'm not even talking about a superstar.

this is interesting; from IPB....CLEARLY showcasing hockey is a good thing for the islanders!!! it pays to less out these games as well....:

"The Islanders will be the first hockey team to play at the brand new Barclays Center in Brooklyn but they won’t be the only ones. Puck Daddy is reporting that the KHL will be scheduling a pair of games at the new arena next season.

On Tuesday, Medvedev announced that two games of the 2012-13 KHL regular season will indeed be held in Brooklyn.

“In January before the [KHL] All Star Games the KHL will hold two regular season games at the new Brooklyn arena. We are planning to send teams with names to New York,” he said.

“There are five candidates at this time. They are CSKA, Dynamo [the reigning KHL champion], as well as the teams [Jaromir] Jagr and [Alexander] Radulov played for [Avangard Omsk and Salavat Yulaev] and SKA St. Petersburgh. I am sure these games will be sold out,” Medvedev told Sovetsky Sport today."

Odds are in your favor of being right.
You don't have to be such a debbie downer, tho, which we already have plenty of on this site.

You should send your resume to Charles tho, along with your predictions and talent assessments. I'm sure he'll find some good use for it in his birdcage or washroom.

I think I will start a new hockey blog called "Hockey B*tch and Moan Buzz" which will be a forum that encourages doubters/haters of their own favorite teams a place to finally get it all off their chests. Each week, one blogger will win the title of Biggest B*tcher and have his/her photo enshrined in a fan hall of shame along with the negative post(s) that clinched them their weekly honor. Will have Dee post the URL when it''s all set up. I expect to see many of the same contributors from this site. Stay tuned.....MTC.

Can't wait. I have to be at the top of that list? Can we have a biggest kool aide award too? For people who are senseless enough to believe in Wanger and Snow.

I'll just say it's very easy to be a debbie downer as an Isles fan. It's not like this team has done everything it can to win and has not given us years of lousy hockey.
