I must have watched the Henrique goal at least 15 times already.

Same, I practically know everything that happened on the goal celebration. Did you see Marty from the one view, he comes down the ice in like a Tebow-esque kneel and pumps his stick into the air.

TGfireandice: Kings are 12-2 in playoffs. Two of Devils' 3 Cups came against teams that went 12-2 in first 3 rounds - Detroit (1995), Anaheim (2003).

Who would of thought the Devils going BACK to the Cup final. Uncle Lou is a mastermind. Look at the acquisitions throughout the year starting at the draft.

Drafted Adam Larsson. When I watched the Devils draft him, I can't really explain it, but it just felt like our fortunates have turned. (You know, after the whole Kovalchuk debacle. Circumventing my A$$. And being knocked out in the first round three straight years. That Carolina one hurt the most.)

Sykora signs after a tryout. Scores 21 goals and 44 points. I thought he was great in that Flyers series. Big goal in game 4.

Bernier signed out of training camp as well. Been very effective on that fourth line.

Claiming Carter off waivers. Probably the best waiver acquisition that I can remember. As well as Bernier, been unbelievable on that fourth line.

Got some defensive depth with Harrold, a former King I might add.

Trading for Poni for next to nothing. Very effective on that third line. Just look at the series winning goal. Just throws it to the net and almost scored right through the King's five hole.

Than acquiring Marek Zidlicky. IMO he was a little inconsistent in the panthers and rangers series, but otherwise great in the Flyers series.

What a difference a year makes.

Finally, Henrique and Gio get their chances and boy they've been solid throughout the year and playoffs.

GO DEVILS!!!

huge huge huge.

That Carolina series did hurt the most, because we could've and should have won it. The Rags, and Avery, had our number. Philly.. we were a mess against them. But Carolina, we had a good team.. i thought we could've done well that year.

Just looked at the stats, the Kings are a bit top heavy in scoring, not as balanced as we are. This is where our third and fourth lines need to come up HUGE. Every forward that has played in 17 or more games for us has over 5 points. If we can find a way to shut down Brown and Kopitar, it could go a long way....

stopping Kopitar and Brown will be huge. Stopping Carter and Richards is another challenge.

Florida had some fast players and a dangerous top line. Philly had a good top line, and only decent supporting lines. NY had depth, but didn't invest the energy to attack.

We've been able to shut them down and prevent any big 5 goal games. These Kings are another story. They have 2 top lines! We have 2 good lines too.. but Kopitar vs. Zajac. Brown vs. Parise. Carter vs. Kovalchuk. Richards vs. Henrique/Elias. Then Stoll vs. Josefson.. Penner, Williams.. their top 2 lines are really good, a decent 3rd line, and an average 4th line.

looks like our 4th line will have to steal yet another series.

TGfireandice Big reason why Devils are in Finals: Top lines for Florida, Philadelphia and Rangers combined for 2G, 6A at even strength over 18 games. 13 minutes ago

TGfireandice Giroux had no even-strength pts, Hartnell 1A, Jagr A; Gaborik 1G,. Richards 2 A. Versteeg 1G/1A, Weiss 1A. That's it.

it also helps that half the flyers were nursing injuries from dirty plays by the penguins that went unpunished by shana-wussy. you can thank the dan bile, his dirty team and that punk female dog shanahan for the easy series vs the flyers.

but every team faces injuries in the playoffs and players were playing through them, hence why injuries in the playoffs is a lame excuse, one of our best games in the series was when kovy was out and he is still playing at a high level with a herniated disk

I have to say. Im incredibly impressed with the allround player Kovy has become. I always considered him your typical selfish russian wimp. But these playoffs have shown me that he is one hell of a hockey player on both ends of the ice. I actually saw him BLOCK A SHOT.

If he was a thrasher, Or jet I guess. I couldnt see him doing that.

I think deboer has done a fantastic job moulding him into something Ovechkin will never be.

Go Devils!

Feels so good to know we are in the finals. Not afraid of the Kings by any means. The Ducks were 12-2 entering the finals, rest is history. Confident in our team. Oh and we have a bright future too. Henrique, Josefson, Larsson, Merill, Gelinas and Tedenby.

Congrats to the Devils and their fans.

One good thing about this is neither of us should have to deal with trolls between eachother. We should all be able to enjoy this series without hearing basement-dwelling nonsense.

Good luck to you guys, just less luck than us.

Our fourth line has been as good or better than your fourth. Don't. Underestimate them. Our third line has been playing great too. We roll 4 lines with no real worry. You guys do pretty much as well. Should be an intersting series.

They're a good energy fourth line but their production doesn't come close to ours.

Everyone at the rock last night was amazing. Best crowd I've ever seen at a Devils game. Even the Rangers fans were respectful and we shared some laughs.

I give you the production.

I'm just talking about overall play. There's a reason why Sutter has had the fourth line closing out 1 goal games at the end and not the first or second. Our fourth line has done a better job at dictating play than our top 2 lines at times. I've gotta give the edge to our third line over yours. 4th production wise you guys have it. First and second lines... who knows. We will see come game time. Our 2nd outproduces yours by a couple goals.

Should be a fun series. Whoever loses, we will be sad obviously, but I can say I will enjoy this series more than the others so far, and not just because it's the SCF. I really think we match up well against each other.

Edit:You've got to remember, we've played less games than you guys, so even if you have scored more, it isn't indicative of being "better" or "producing more." More games = more points, or more chances of getting points. It's like our second line has outproduced yours by 2 goals and our 3rd lines are tied in goals, even though we have a few less games.

Does it mean anything? Who knows. We'll all find out.

Our fourth line gets all the prime ice time too, we roll every line at even strength, and often times, they found themselves out against the Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik line pinning that line in their d-zone. That line only combined for 2 points total, I believe. The Devils finally have four lines that they can rely on, both defensively and offensively. Guys like Ponikarovsky and Elias may not produce that much, but they do the little things. It all comes down to whether the Devils shut down Kopitar/Brown. If they do that, I like our chances. We've shut down Weiss, Versteeg, the Giroux line, and the Rangers top line limiting them to just 6 points at even strength. Obviously, we are making the right adjustments, hope we can do the same.

All of our lines have shut down pretty much every line we've played as well.

That's a big reason why we are both in the finals. I think we've played better so far to this point, but that doesn't mean much come gametime. Anything can happen.

Were both still playing for a reason. Should be a good final.
