I'd love for the Canucks to get Connolly, but he's not worth giving up Edler. - Fosco
You guys should do the Lu for Vinny trade and have the Sabres help out with your salary cap...
Now that AV is pissing off Kesler by calling out his heart, what about both our 1sts and either McNabb/Pysyk
or
Our 1st (12th) our 2nd and Roy
We'll keep taking your problem children that "fake" injuries. |

Personally, if they decide to move Schneider, I'd rather try and get Connolly and the 10th overall from Tampa.

Not a big Johnson fan. CLB just got him, so it's unlikely they trade him, anyway.

Mike Gillis would never aquire a player with that kind of price tag when he has convinced the leaders of this team being the Sedins, To take hometown discounts.
If he all of a sudden brought in some underachieving chump who makes 7+ it would destroy the locker room
VL aint going to be flossin an orca. Conversation over. |

if its anything it will be malone, ohlund and one of our 2nds for lu and a dman whether its ballard or something. hell id even consider giving connolly too if we got edler. u guys get the power forward in malone (whose contract is a million less than luongos and his actual salary goes down to like 3 mill or something this yr) plus a dman whod be do for a raise anyway. ohlund will retire there prob next season if he cant give it a go. works out for everyone. - boltsfan48
I don't see us taking on Luongo and Vinny's contract at the same time. As you pointed out, Malone is actually making less than $3 million the next two years (I think 2.5 mill, then 2 mill), so I hope we hold onto him as well. I think Edler would be great, but I can't see the Canucks trading him. |

this is the thing for TB, it's not the cap hit its the cash amount that matters because of the internal cap bein so much lower than the actual NHL cap. hence, Luongo's $10M doesn't work |

I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to suspect that the market for Lu isn't as high as most of us would like to it is. Apparently Tampa will only take him if we get Vinny back and Toronto will only do it if Komisarek is included. Doesn't sound like we're going to get much back so it wouldn't surprise me if both goalies are back next season or even Schneider gets traded(I hope not).
I wonder what it's going to be like here if Lu, Malhotra, Ballard and Raymond are all back along with AV. - Nucker101
Then Tampa can sign Hasek and Leafs can continue with a 3 AHL goalie rotation. If the market isn't there this summer, I guarantee it will be there by the end of November. |

Luongo doesn't make 10 million per year in actual dollars, educate yourself! |

Lu has about 47 million left, Vinnie has 55 million left.
i'd say an 8 million dollar savings would be something Tampa would want. |

At the latest TDL - VANTEL
Vokoun is a decent option for a team like Chicago or Detroit. There's also the possibly Calgary could move Kipper, who doesn't have a long-term contract and is in the same tier of goalies as Luongo, some would argue that he's even better considering the teams they play with. Minny will have to decide between Backstrom and Harding because both want to start, Harding is a UFA I believe. Or a team likes the Isles might want to go for a younger goalie for the future like a Bernier, Lindback, etc. There's only about 5 or 6 teams that really could use a goalie and some of them aren't even in high pressure situations where they have to win now so they'll be looking for a younger goalie(CBJ, NYI). There are some other options out there besides Lu and I know that he's more proven than most of the names I mentioned, but none of those guys have such long-term contracts. And in a long-term contract a lot can go wrong for a GM/Owner, a decline in play, constant injuries, etc.

oh for sure, no one anywhere has said they wouldn't JUMP at this trade. That's why it's so stupid to be proposed by Vancouverites. That said, no sane GM in the league would take on the Vinny contract so they'd be stuck with both.
Again, I've already said I see nothing wrong with Luongo's cap hit, its not a bad deal at all since we all know he will retire well before he is an anchor. |

Everything you said is true. All those teams will make moves before the season starts and then their will be two or three teams around TDL fighting to make the playoffs like the Leafs were. Then Lu basically has 1 mil left on this year and 5 more years at 5.3 ,That is when I think we get the best deal. |

Not to mention whatever degree of NTC Lu has. CBJ would love him I'm sure but there's no way he waives to go from penthouse to outhouse.
Teams I'm guessing that would both be interesting to him and interested in him:
TBL
FLA
CHI
DET but only if they are cray enough to not believe in Howard
NJD if Fatty retires
