Playoff-season trade... Washington sends Chris Bourque to Boston for Zach Hamill.
David Pagnotta@TheFourthPeriod
For those asking, teams out of the playoffs are allowed to trade with one another.
There you go Ian you were right. - VANTEL
I thought so but it doesn't really seem fair to the teams still playing..........
So there is merit to Gillis saying he is prepared to keep Lu......... cause all the teams he's rumored to be going too are out of the playoffs or didn't make em at all. Interesting.

Not bad........
I like the fact that the leafs have never played a playoff game in HD yet - Sheppy99
That one is up there too. |

The leafs will still make poop-loads of money though. Doesn't really seem like it matters if they win or lose. MLSE always wins. |

New sherrriff in town now.See if the Rogers people like missing the playoffs.Lost revenues that I am sure a TV network will not be thrilled about. |

If the Canucks don't get a reasonable offer for Luongo, then move Schneider.
Something like...
Schneider and Raymond to Tampa for Brett Connolly, the 10th overall pick, and the Lightnings 2nd round pick.
The Canucks could use the 10th pick on someone like Teuvo Teravainen or Brendan Gaunce.
Jensen, Kassian, Connolly, Schroeder and Gaunce/Teravainen. The Canucks would be stocked with young talented forwards. |

I'm used to missing the playoffs at this point. As long as there is a long term goal in place which I believe there is finally and no shortcuts are made for huge long term contracts, I can be patient for now......
CBC is gonna go in the $hitter soon though if they don't start making the playoffs. Their ratings are crap when Leafs are in the playoffs and even worse when there is 0 Canadian teams.
Don't know too many people excited about this final |

True. Never thought about that. With Rogers involved they would get to double-dip in playoff revenue in a round about way. Much more pressure now. Good point. |

That scares me cause pressure to me just means lack of patience and shortcuts
Main reason we've been unsuccessful for this long
Patience builds good teams. Shortcuts builds the calgary flames....... no future, no present |

Not to be argumentative but overall NHL playoff audience ratings are up more than 44 percent. Never been higher. |

Even more so with with CBC probably not getting HNIC.Bell/ Rogers will probably be bidding on the new contract for playoffs and Saturday games. They were smart to team up with the Leafs Habs and Canucks. |

TSN sent out a press release bragging that their NHL playoff ratings are up 56% over last year. Haven't been able to find CBC's numbers. |

Latest I found was when the Nucks were still in the playoffs and they were high then and obviously cause of the Canadian content....
I will still tune into cbc regardless of who's playing but I know lots of ppl who could care less to watch if there's 0 canadian teams. I just assume that translates into lower ratings but I could be wrong......

That is mostly due to the fact that they were given decent match ups this year and not CBC scraps. CBCs days are numbered.I personnally haven't seen one game since the Canucks got knocked off. |

Personally, the only reason I even watch CBC is because of Hughson and his "GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEAT SAVE LUONGO!!!" But even he is getting boring now. I prefer the TSN telecast than HNIC now. I think the death knell for HNIC was when they couldn't keep the old theme song for it. That song is ICONIC for a reason, and I would be more than happy to watch a Saturday night TSN (or RSN) version of HNIC over the original. Better commentators, better analysts and better yet, no MacLean or Cherry. |

+1
The only problem I had with TSN in the past was they would miss the start of 2 nd games because game 1 would be into the Shootout.
Bob McKenzie or Ron MacLean hmmmm who do I prer. See Ya Ronnie. |

So my theory does hold water. If you compare the all american series to the ones that have Canadian teams.......... big difference in ratings - Sheppy99
True and you are correct about CBC. As VANTEL mentioned, no way a public broadcaster wins the broadcast rights next time they are up for grabs. The price tag will be
And you're welcome. Anything for a fellow maritimer
