Why do you think the Islanders have a real chance at making the playoffs next year? I see people say this on here(and on here only BTW) and can't understand why, what is Snow going to do to make this a playoff team becuase as is it doesn't have a shot in hell? Also, the coach has to get them to the playoffs first. Thats kind of a wierd comment because what do we do if we make it? Fire Crapuano and hire a new one? They didn't seem to comprehend that they needed toughness last year and Tavares and company got their asses kicked all last year so what makes you think Snow is going to be aware of the problems on the blue line? I know Snow hasn't had a chance to do anything yet this off season but he has done NOTHING to make me think that he is going to do ANYTHING thats going to drastically improve this team. Hopefully I'm wrong but I'm not going to be like some on here thinking he "has to do something to reach the floor" we all saw that show las5t season, expect more of the same. In fact both Wang and Snow said expect more of the same.

No one can honestly can say the islanders have any better shot at making the playoffs next year than they did this past season or in comparison to the other teams in the conference. Nobody knows how each team will be made up. But based on the last few years, I don't know how anyone could possibly think that the Islanders have a good chance of making the playoffs. They are light years away from being a contenders away from away

Jethro you are being too negative. All the Isles have to do is use the Godfather method to sign some top FA's and we will be set.

I'm sure both teams will consider themselves underdogs because they were both lower seeds. The Kings though will be the favorites seeing as they disposed of the top three seeds out west.
I'll still put my money on old man Marty any day, Devs in 6!

Exactly, the only thing you can use as a reference is the last few seasons and in doing that how can anyone expect to be in the playoffs next year? Every year there are some on here that say this is Snow's year, he's got to do this and that and guess what? It's the same olde shat evey year. If he surprises us than great, just don't see it happening when he pretty much stated it would be more of the same. Keeping Capuano on as coach I think tells us which way this season is heading.

How about David Jones, Brandon Prust, Mike Carle and Anton Stralman?

Fixed.

Carle will demand five million, not worth it. Stralman might be a good bet. Nothing good in this UFA market, everyone will get overpayed big time.
